I was tinkering with the idea of buying some Ak's off Ebay, and giving them to Imperial Guardsmen instead of lasguns (I HATE lasguns...), but they would count as such, just look cooler. Has anyone ever seen this done, Or have any thoughts on the subject?

Too right lasguns suck. Those AKs look like they were always there, where did you source them from? Are the hands the original hands or attached to the guns?

The hands are those ones attached to the lasguns, i cut the gun off and took chunks outta the AK's so they fit.

That's what I was thinking looking at the pics, but I was thinking that would be way too much effort

Ya it was a pain at first. But luckily theres two that the hands were on the arms and not the guns. So all I had to do was cut the gun off the one arm. The other eight though, were evil. But by the...oh Id say fifth one I got the hand of taking the hand off and making it fit into the AK well. The effort is worth it. One, cause its unique, and two, an AK is soooo much better then a lasgun lol

If you screw up and amputate a hand there are spare hands in the Grey Knights kit. I got some 'Aliens' pulse rifles I'm going to do this with. (Hasslefree Minis?) Actually, there are a lot of replacement guns other companies make for just this purpose. I agree about carving the lasguns off the arms. Been there, done that and it sux. Such is the price we pay for coolness.

Haha, I was gonna get pulse rifles when i decided to make some storm troopers. I don't know who makes em, but its an Ebay store and its something like $10 for 5 of them.

And at $9 and change for 10 Ak's, its not all that bad, I just wish that there were more lasgun hands in the standard infantry squad set that are attached to the left arm instead of two per pack.

Those AK's look really good on the guardsmen.

I look forward to painting them, and I have an Aliens apc comin in the mail to be their command vehicle (proxy as chimera). swap out some of the weapons and put some imperial-ish lookin stuff on it so that it fits the part and it'll be good to go.

The apc from aliens will look class with a few 40k emblems etc.

From what i can tell they look pretty good,white is always a nightmare to get looking good.Those AK's are still looking great too,is there any chance of some better quality pictures?

If your interested in alternate weapons TAG The Assault Group has an exceptional range the AK47's go about £3.60 so roughly $6. Paintings looking fairly good I'm not a huge hater of Lasguns although I've had a lot of fun and games carving arms of Lasguns to use for my Zulus so I now how that go's......

I. Did a cold war soviet ig army if you check my pics you will find them. Converted all the troops to Aks vets to aksu and ak74s and rattlings to svd. Was a. Mission but well worth it
+1 for the Assault group it's where I got all my stuff from very good quality the pics don't do there stuff justice

Finnally got my hands on a camera. And my APC is painted up ^^
