I used Catattafish's 'Paint a Thunder Hammer' technique (which can be found here), but modified it obviously to a sword shape. Let me know what you think.

I appreciate the compliments. Just fyi this was done with chaos black (obviously), then enchanted bluen then ice blue, then skull white. I think however, that the look would best be served by widening the enchanted blue to greatly reduce the black and adding in hawk turqoise before the ice blue. That's what I've gleaned from this first try.
