Mk 7 is the most common based on the figures, but Mk 8 is the most 'modern' in use.

Errant, I believe. But I'm not sure if it's actually even made as of 053.M41..... The 'current' date is like, 998.M41 or something.. That's over nine hundred years.

You know, I hadn't really considered the date the OP mentioned. I still think Mk 8 was around then though, after all, what's 900 years to the imperium?

The current date, as it's so obscure and well hidden (thanks for that, GW), is actually not M41 at all, but sometime in the very early stages of M42. Source? One Ciaphas Cain story. Just one.
