On April 9 2011 I inquired to SHORTY!!! about some guard items that he had up on a thread in the swap shop. Specifically, I was most interested in his autocannons bitz. He stated that he had two autocannons available for sale and accepted my offer of $10 (USD) shipped for the two. On the morning of April 11 I transferred to his paypal the $10 agreed upon and sent him a PM stating such.

Two weeks later on April 26, and having not yet received the package, I sent him a PM asking when it had been shipped out. I received no response. Some red flags went up in my head. In 9 years of shipping things to myself internationally I have never had a package take this long. But people get busy and perhaps he shipped a little late?

So I waited until the next week on May 2. Still with no response from SHORTY!!! I sent him another PM asking when the package had been shipped. Still no response. With two sent messages and no responses I was fairly certain the package would not be ever heading my way, I waited one more week.

On May 6 I sent him yet another PM giving him a rundown of our communication and explaining that I would be reclaiming my money on PayPal as well a posting a transaction report about him. Well, having read this you know that he did not respond to the latest PM either.

It really pains me to have to make this report about a fellow dakkadakka user. Consdidering that SHORTY!!! was online and was able to post in another thread http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/364556.page#2736557 after I sent to him PMs asking when my package had been shipped, reveals to me this user has no intention of fulfilling his obligations. Quite a shame, though not a suprise, that some users do this sort of thing.

In summary, funds were transferred April 11 2011. On this date communication from SHORTY!!! also ceased. As of this morning I am yet to receive the package.

On April 11 you confirmed that you would send me two IG autocannons with airmail to the Netherlands in exchange for 10 (USD). On this date I also transferred the total amount to the PayPal address that you provided to me. On April 26, having received no autocannons from you, I sent you a PM asking when they had been sent out. No response. On May 2, still with no autocannons or word from you, I sent you another PM asking when they had been sent out. No response.

This is the final message I will send to you. If they do not arrive by May 9 I am going to file a claim on PayPal in order to recover my money. I will also be making a transaction report here on dakkadakka.com. If there has been some sort of problem you need to let me know. With no response from you all I can conclude is that you will not be sending these items. Hope to hear from you soon.

Just a quick update and a small question.

SHORTY!!! has credited me the amount owed on PayPal. However, he just transferred it directly, with no other communication, and did not do it through the dispute process.

My question is: should I end the dispute? Is it possible to just run a counter dispute after I close down mine? I am unsure how to proceed.

It is good that he finally refunded you- however as it took the starting of a Paypal dispute to do it, this TR will be marked as "unresolved" in the list (as it was a forced resolution).

Shorty, it would be good if you could post here as well stating your reason for not following through on the trade.

In the end you got what you wanted and were happy with that so why would you not end the dispute?

Just end the dispute through Resolution Centre and be done with it.

How did he send the refund exactly, as in what payment reason was given, if it was a gift then it cant be taken back and i would say close the dispute...otherwise im not sure.

Would be carful got scammed like this last year if the payment was send and a basic payment and you end the dispute he can then start his own dispute for the money and there is nothing you can do about it and paypal will give him his money back and you cannot resart your dispute for the money.

Juat be carful either way its a difficult situation get somthing in writing from him to say the payment is a refund or better still give him this money back and ask him to got through the official dispute refund process that way you are covered
