I saw this 2000 pt Rogue Trader tournament advertised in the Dakka tournament discussions at Might Titan's Hobbies which is about 1 hour 15 min away so I decide to give it a shot for 2000 pt practice for Nova. My friends yermom, DevianID and frgsinwintr here were also in attendance.

To get to 2k from my 1850 list as base I was experiementing with a bunch of stuff but this time I decided to try out a 7th scoring unit another veteran squad but with only 150 pts I had to cut a melta for a flamer so 2 melta flamer. I had done this config with Vendetta vets before but not in a Chimera.

I took less pictures for this tournament trying to play as fast as possible to get playing fast and they had a bonus points for making it to turn 5+.

I set up as close to the middle as possible expecting him to reserve so I can position around the middle.

He does reserve everything. deepstriking doom and trygon

I spend the first 2 turns shuffling around to the following position in the middle having turboed each Vendetta hanging back behind the half point line. First mistake should have hung back 30 inches to be out of hive guard move 6 shoot 24 total 30 inches. Alrahem failed to arrive on my turn 2 which was actually good so he wasn't there to be genestealer targets.

His turn 2
he gets both stealers one on each flank which hide in the bushes. doom drops right in front of the lead chimeras and hides behind the pod. Tervigon comes on in the right corner with some gaunts. Tyranofex comes on in the left corner. trygon drops on my left flank and wiffs firing at a Manticore. tyrano takes side shots at a chimera and wiffs.

My turn 3
Alrahem comes in on the right to help me deal with the Trygon and stealers. Alrahem comes on so he can target the Trygon and the other chimeras position to burn genestealers. 2 Vendettas and most of my left moves to fire on the Trygon. left vendetta targets the tyranofex. Forward CCS chimera moves up to kill doom. CCS kills doom, melta vets kill the pod, infantry chimeras burn genestealers killing a few but 2 less because of broodlord wound stacking. one vendetta shoots the tyrano doing a wound. Alrahem, 2 vendettas and pretty much everything else fires at the Trygon finally dropping him with the last shot not including the manticores which I forget to fire at the stealers on the left. Oops. There goes trying to play fast to get the 2 point bonus.


His Turn 3
He gets on the gaunts, warriors, zoans, hive guard. gaunts come on to make cover for warriors, zoans and hive guard come on to target the front 2 chimeras. One zoan perils hurting himself and both wiff. Hive guard stun and knock off a weapon off the vet chimera. Warriors shoot a chimera and stun/shake it. Tyrano shoots at a chimera with flamer vets in it and immobilizes it His left stealers get a 6 fleet to get to my Vendetta. On the other side he multi assaults the two infantry chimeras. Left Stealers wiff on vendetta. right Stealers imobilize one infantry chimera.

My turn 4
I move the vendetta near the stealers 12 to shoot 1 las at the Tyranofex. One vet Chimera rolls up to burn the left stealers. 2 Other Vendettas target the hive guard. Alrahem's pcs and remaining mobile infantry squad postition to burn and melta the remaining stealers. Stealers are wiped out in the ensuing flaming and melta/las gun shots. I actually use the vet flamer from inside the hatch to roast stealers as the chimera is immobile. Manticores take out some Warrior. Vendettas take the hive guard down to one member with 1 wound. Remaining multi lasers and shots go into the Zoan killing 1.

His turn 4
He still fails to get his tyrant having rolled a 1 or 2 each time. Zoanthrope moves up. Hive guard hides behind the wall. gaunts shuffle up on the right. tervigon still hangs out in the corner casting fnp on gaunts. zoan wiffs. tyranofex fires at a vendetta and wiffs rolling a 1 to pen.

My turn 5
Vendettas las up the tyrano and kill him. 1 Manticore takes out that last hive guard by targeting a gaunt next to him that it can see. Some multi lasers take out the zoan. Other Manticore + multi lasers and hydra finish off the Warriors and middle gaunts.

His turn 5
tyrant finally comes on and blows up a chimera. he can only move the gaunts up on the right.

Results
I got primary on kill points but we draw secondary since the game ended before I could make the final push and turbo boasts to try and nab his corner.

Points
Me: 17 (12 for primary 3 for drawing secondary and 2 for bonus)
Him: 5 (3 for drawing secondary 2 for bonus)

Game Analysis
He really didn't have enough shooting to make a game of it and had some bad rolls to boot.
I m ade a couple mistakes
1. Forgot to fire Manticores at this left stealers.
2. I pushed up to far giving him shots when he came on with Zoanthropes and Hive Guard. Should have been 30 inches from his board edge.
Additional vet unit was pretty useful actually got to use the flamer on them.

Mission Parameters
Primary 3 objectives 1 in middle, each player places 1.
Secondary kill all troops

Deployment.
He wins the die roll to go first. He puts his objective in the ruins in the middle on his side. I put my objective in the ruins on the right. Last objective is in the middle of the board.

He deploys a Demon Prince and a rhino full of plague marines at the half way point behind ruins on the center objective. Rolling everything else on turn 1

I deploy a Chimera > 18 inches away directly across from them just in case I get the seize to searchlight his prince or chimera. I outflank the Vendettas and Alrahem's Platoon.

I actually seize and get first turn.

My Turn 1
I roll on with the majority of my stuff on the right side with the hydra and another chimera in the middle to help shoot up the demon prince. I search light the demon prince and shoot everything that can at the demon prince and kill him. He was standing next to the rhino so I managed a glance shaking it also with a Manticore.

His Turn 1
He rolls on with the land raider on the left, oblits and defiler in the middle in cover and rhinos on the right with the other daemon prince behind rhino for cover. He uses smoke launchers on everything that doesn't have cover already. Land raider takes a shot at my center chimera that search lighted but its cover saved. Defiler takes a shot at my center chimera also but misses.

My Turn 2
I get Alrahem's Platoon and 2 Vendettas on the left side hoping to bait his land raider away from the middle. Alrahem's platoon rolls on somewhat spread out with Alrahem the deepest in enemy territory onlying moving 6 to take shots at the rhino in the middle. Vendetta both move on the left side also targeting the oblits. Manticores fire at the land raider but fail to do anything a lucky scatter hits some oblits and one is vaporized by the manticore missle. Hydra explodes the defiler. Vendettas kill the remaining oblits. Vet auto cannons wreck a plague marine rhino and multi lasers stun the rhino in the middle.

His Turn 2
Land raider moves 12 towards alrahem's chimera and the berserkers hop out. Remaining Rhinos move 12 straight forward. The dismounted plague marine squad moves to the left to head for his objective. The berserkers assault Alrahem's chimera and wreck it. Alrahem's squad hops out the back tp the left side and makes their pining check.

My Turn 3
I get in the last Vendetta on the right side. Alrahem's squad moves towards the land raider keeping 1 inch away from the Berserkers. Infantry chimera rolls up to burn the berserkers. Left Vendettas target the Rhino in the middle. Chimeras in the middle move up slightly. Alrahem issues bring it down on his own platoon and they explode the land raider but are caught in the explosion. Alrahem takes a wound. Infantry chimera burns some berserkers and fire from the hatch killing some. Second Infantry chimera also fires from the hatch and kills one. Left Vendettas explode the Rhino in the middle. Hydra shakes the left rhino. Vet squad in Chimera explodes the rhino next to it. Manticores fire at the plagues that fell out but scatter off doing minimal damage. Right Vendetta Auto cannon vets and multi lasers focus fire down the other demon prince.

His Turn 3
Remaining Berserkers instead of going for Alrahem go for the infantry chimera. Plague Marines in the middle spread out. Plague Marines on the middle right go for my chimera. Far Plague marines in ruins move onto his objective. Plague marines in the middle fire plasmas into my chimeras but fail to do anything. Berserkers assault the infantry Chimera and immobilize and stun it. Plague marines explode my middle chimera.

My turn 4
Alrahem's squad moves closer to the remaining berserkers, infantry squad hops out of the stunned chimera to fire at berserkers. Right chimera moves up to burn some plagues. Company comand issues fire on my target on the unit in the crater on the right middle plague marines. Alrahem's squad orders first rank second rank on the infantry squad into the berserkers killing 1. Alrahem's squad fires into the berserkers and Alrahem dies from over heating plasma pistol :(. Other infantry chimera burns and fires to finish off the las of the berserkers. Manticores fire into the right middle plague squad which is clustered more and kills some. Melta vets start firing and they go to ground so the Vendettas fire at the middle squad killing a couple. Multi lasers and auto cannons all focus on the right squad.

His Turn 4
Instead of charging my vet squad with the right middle plague marines he heads back for middle objective. Some plasmas fire at chimeras but fail to do anything.

My turn 5
I try to move the ccs chimera 12 onto the objective but it immobilizes itself on terrain. I move 12with a vet chimera and get on the objective and smoke. I then fire everything that can into the two plague marine squad reducing the right one to one plasma gunner and the middle to only a few members.

His Turn 5
right lone plasma gunner rapid fires into the side of the vet chimera on the objective but one misses and other is stoped by smoke. remaining plagues assault the chimera but wiff.

We roll and the game ends here.

Results
Primary objectives = Draw each controlling 1 with the middle contested
secondary objective = draw and neither killed all troops
both get 2 bonus for getting to turn 5
We both get 6 for primary 3 for secondary and 2 for bonus so 11 pts.

Game Analysis
I probably should have moved 12 with Alrahem's platoon chimeras when coming on. The multi lasers aren't all that effective against rhinos and I needed to get to that middle objective.
Extra unit of vets was pretty good giving me more meltas and flamer to dump into plagues.
Large units of feels no pain units are actually a huge pain to remove. Considering adding plasma.

Good report. Yeah, I love plagues against IG. You may have a good amount of lascannons, plasma and melta, but against everything else the PMs can bounce a staggering amount of fire.

He wins first turn and picks the side with the fortress. He deploys a rhino with the 9 assault squad + priest in it and a assault squad in assault cannon razor on the left with a predator with everything else hiding behind the fortress on the right other then the second predator.

I deploy an auto melta vets and the flamer melta vets on the left supported by the hydra with the bulk of my forces behind the tower on the right side with the vendettas and alrahem in reserve outflanking.

I try to seize but do not.

His Turn 1
He drives up 12 with the rhino on the left and smokes. Assault cannon razor moves up 6. left predator targets my auto cannon chimera on the left. Right pedator move up 6 andtargets the manticore it can see. other vehicles on the right shuffle over 6. He wiffs on his shooting.

My Turn 1
I move the flamer melta vets up to be in range of the Rhino on the left. On the right I move out from behind the tower slightly to have los to fire. Left flamer melta vets blow up the Rhino and the assault squad piles out. Left Manticore blows up the left predator. everything else is a wiff.

His turn 2
1 speeders come in from reserve it goes for my right manticore.his assault marines move up to my flamer melta vet chimera. right pred moves up 6 as do other vehicles on right. his assault marines on left melta the chimera immobilizing it. predator stuns a manticore rest just wiffs. assault cannon razor on the left blows off the multi laser on the ccs chimera. assault marines on left assault the flamer melta vet chimera and explode it killing some but they make their leadership.

My turn 2
Alrahem fails to come on. I get in 2 Vendettas on the right side who move on 12. melta flamer vets move up to flamer and melta the assault marines. Manticore fires at predator and wiffs One Vendetta stuns the pred other wiffs when shooting at a rhino. Chimeras on the right multilaser the speeder and kill it. Auto cannon vets on right immobilize the death company rhino. melta flamer vets shoot the left assault marines killing a couple. auto melta on left also shoot the assault marines killing 1.

His turn 3
two speeder comes in but one mishaps. other lands behind the tower. mephiston jumps over and moves towards the farther vendetta. assault squad rhino on right moves for the objective. assault squad on left moves to assault the flamer melta vets. assault cannon razor on left blows up the auto cannon melta vets chimera but they make their leadership. Assault squad on left assault the melta flamer vets and kills the. mephiston assaults the vendetta on the right shaking it.

My turn 3
Alrahem and the last vendetta come in on the left. Alrahem's pcs and 1 infantry go for the assault squad and the last infantry squad goes for the assault cannon razor. Vendetta comes on and has its eye on the predator. shaken vendetta turbos to my backfield on the right, other vendetta moves 6 away from Mephiston. Manticores go at the Pred but wiff, Left Vendetta stuns the predator auto vets on the right weapon destroy the right assault cannon razor. right vendetta shoots mephiston putting 2 wounds on him. Single meltagun from the top of an infantry chimera wrecks the left assault cannon razor. Everything else on the left shoots the feels no pain assault marines but there are still 2 left.

His turn 4
last speeder comes in targeting my ccs chimera. left assaults split from the priest, priest goes into my vet squad and remaining marine goes to assault alrahem's chimera. death company get out and run. Mephiston moves on over to assault the auto las chimera on the right. one speeder wiffs. other one immobilizes the auto melta vet chimera. far left assaults try and melta the vendetta and wiff. mephiston assaults the auto melta chimera exploding it but they make their leaderhip but fail pinning. assault marine stuns and takes a weapon off alrahem's chimera. priest charges the vet squad and they actually kill him.

My turn 4
Alrahem pops out of his Chimera to kill that last assault marine. Infantry Chimeras move to fire on the assault squad. on the right chimeras move in closer to take shots at mephiston. ccs orders get back on the fight on the pinned squad and they all light up mephiston and kill him. ccs meltas the speeder and explode it Vendetta takes out the razor, other vendetta takes out the speeder. manticore fires into the assault marines killing 3. Left Vendetta finally kills the predator. Left side fire and wipe out the assault marines on the left.

His turn 5
his termies finally come in on the hill by the bastion but thats all he got left other then the death company that run for my objective.

My turn 5.
I move onto both objectives on the left side and light up his termies and assault squad on the right killing his assault squad and leaving only 2 termies.

His turn 6
he multi assaults my melta vet chimera and auto melta vets with 2 termies, wrecking the chimera and making the vets run.

My turn 6.
auto melta vets run 2 inches. I finish off his terminators and his death company and sit on 3 objectives to his none.

MVP vendettas they actually got vehicle kills
Did nothing: manticores could not hit this game kept scattering off rhino chassis.

Game Analysis
terrain and cover really helped me in this game.
the feel no pain squad was a pain to get rid off

Overall analysis of 2000 pt list.
List was pretty solid over all.
Adding that last scoring unit actually was quite good actually used the flamer twice.

Changes to my list after this tourney
Unfortunately due to fortitude grey knights being a huge issue in playtesting will need to replace the last scoring unit with a Witch Hunter Inquisitor Lord with psychic hood and 3 plasma warriors for as long as its allowed. I hear Sisters might be getting a pdf codex to disallow this but for now its the only answer to not flat out losing to fortitude. Tthis would also give me plasma to help deal with the hard to kill feels no pain units.
