Its hard to find people that are into 40k if you don't camp out at the store, and im not into that. I tried to get my girlfriend to play but she wasn't digging it , something about not understanding why all the marines had to be the same colors.

If you want to play in a relaxed atmosphere and roll some dice, and If you live anywhere near Brookfield zoo, are over 21, and don't have a problem with guy type sh1t , let a gamer know.

I and going to be visiting the area next week from Indiana (used to live in the area) and I too like drink and smoke and swear. I am also fairly new but I think the kind of relaxed game sounds great. Also I make moonshine.

Update - I met up with beardpride and had two games , the first was a small skirmish and the second was a 2000 pointer , both were a good time. Thanks to beardy for all the help learning to play. He and his misses were nice people and I'm glad I stuck my head out of my hole on dakka . Now all I need is someone that lives in or around dupage or cook county not 5 hours into indie to play with so if anyone meets that criteria feel free to email or pm me. Thanks

It is a bit of a drive for me, but I play at the Chicago battle Bunker.

The staff there is great. They know their rules, are friendly, and are not pushy salesmen.
there are a ton of great tables to play on and usually you do not have to wait that long to find a game, especially on weekends. There are people of all ages who play there, not just a bunch of pre-teens

It is in Downer's Grove. I do not know if that is close for you.

Update-2

I played my second game with a Dakka member last Saturday the 9th . it was a blast and I learned a ton from a player named Castitus. We played a 1500 pt game his IG vs my DoomEagles (vanilla marines).

I have another game with a dakka member this Saturday the 16th named Bigjp at my house 1500 pt vs chaos, I will also try and do a dakka report for it

Update -4 played another great game vs Castitas- the game was mine but only due to my low killpoints. After the game ended officially we played it till the end and he won by one comisar and three guardsmen.

Side note I would no longer consider my self a noob. I have some games under my belt... plus my army is fleshed out a bit , I don't have to rely on 10 termies to hold the line. Still looking for more people though so if you want a casual game in a chill atmosphere let me know?

I have had a couple of people raise eyebrows to the smoking and drinking, let me say this 40k first and whatever you do is ok with me.

Im a friendly person totally into 40k and I have the required War gamer belly and beard, if you do too it would be good to hear from ya.
