Hi,
guess it#s time for the second wave for Vampire Counts to receive its own thead. Currently not much is known, just the following lines from WD July's announcement:

Vampire Counts
Drawn to the battlefields of the Warhammer world by the storm of magic, the Vampire Counts are here next month. August's issue will contain new and exclusive rules for a new vampiric monster to add to your army.

This seems to indicate that the VC release is tied to Storm of Magic somehow.

Some rumours:

There are new miniatures for Necromances (not sure), and a flying monster (undead one), possibly an Abbysal TERROR (WELL, IT´S AN ABBYSAL TERROR!) But i don´t know if it have a rider.

it does.....

There's a new necromancer for the SoM release.

How is that a wave 2? The rumours only mention new spellcasters and new monsters. That's a Storm of Magic release, not an army wave.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Has white dwarf ever repeated a cover? That's the cover they used for first wave vamp counts. I call shenanigans.

If that is a genuine photo leak, then SoB are indeed getting their WD codex.

K nvm, hadn't had the chance to read through all of the other thread, disregard.

On topic: A giant skeletal bat thing sounds....interesting, I guess.

Have some faith
75hastings69 wrote:The "garden of morr" scenery piece, basically a new fantasy graveyard - although I'm not 100% sure that this won't be held back until the VC wave later in the year.

Me too. Wait till you see the other VC stuff
BramGaunt wrote:Hm, any hint on if, and if what, to expect besides the beastie? Something Black Knighty perhaps?

indeed (IIRC ) maybe a few characters too (although I thought the Necromancer was part of the VC wave???) hope Garden of Morr is part of VC releases.....
Beasts stuff (which will also be along soon) is also VERY nice

Sorry, forgot to post about the "Garden of Morr" scenery piece among all that new stuff coming up the last 24 hours.

And for the dry undead:
75hastings69 wrote:You're kidding TK just got a LOAD of stuff over the last 2 months!! LOL!!! some people are just NEVER satisfied (hope the new plastic collossus/hierotitan cheers you up )
Spiney Norman wrote:Hmmm, ok then, when do we get aforementioned Hierotitan, will it be with SoM, or later this year, or next year?

AFAIK it could well be before the end of this year.

Just for completeness, here the pic of the VC Necromancer:

Interesting that those blurbs about each model mention that they are done in plastic, not resin.

Despite having rejected Fantasy aeons ago, I am tempted to get one of those Dark Elf hags, might make a good Dark Eldar something. The necromancer also looks ace, must have one of those for my zombies.

Yes, they are. Plastic singles in blisters are a first. They obviously intend to sell a lot of those. Maybe all together are in one metal mould.

It's an odd move, but a welcome one. Maybe I missed it, but are their prices known? I am hoping not more than €15,-- tops.

GW should do a Vampire Counts As army.

Wasn't there talk awhile back of plastic sorcereress boxed sets with a mounted and dismounted version for Dark Elves?

Ya there was, hence i suggested the idea of why dont GW just cast all the special chars on 1 frame of plastic and just snip the individuals off when packaging.

Maybe this release will make GW realize how much more popular plastic is to resin and others

Really glad to see them finally doing something like this with plastics. If GW would innovate some economy in how they design their molds, they might be able to pull this off at reasonable prices.

I'm pretty sure GW would know how much more popular plastic is than anything else; they're the ones who get to count the money at the end of the day! It's just been a matter of cost, as plastic molds are expensive. However, someone mentioned the idea of one big mold for a whole bunch of plastic kits like these, which makes sense to me. This bodes well for the future.

Love all four casters. Strong work. The Necro has strong ties to the empire wizard kit, methinks...

On a delicate chain at her throat, she keeps it with her to this day.”
