Summary :
Net on the phoenix guards to stop them from moving and the archmage from casting pretty much saved the game. Spearelves with only withering managed to kill the warrior priest and more than 1/3rd of the greatswords and anymore buffs(occams, etc) would have easily swung it in their favor.
The hellblaster volley gun seems only good if you can get a clear shot against cavalry. Against large blocks of infantry, the mortar is going to be much more reliable and cause far more wounds.
Usefulness of the warrior priest : ???. I took him to nullify challenges, but outside a challenge he seems quite vulnerable to basic infantry. Not sure about the greatswords either, i thought they would be more dangerous in melee.
Miscasting the first turn net meant that i never had much spare dice for the rod of power, i was always short on dice for dispels.
Knights and crossbows didnt really cause much damage either...the knights had problems fighting the DPs for example, and the eagle put the others out of position.
