This is my DE test model. Yes, I know, I'm lazy. But, now that I know what colors I want to paint them, the manufacturing line can begin. Some things I'm not sold on was the basing, and my attempt at getting eye glow done well. Let me know what you think.

Thanks,

Grim-

P.S. There were more, but my camera's being strange lately, and they're too blurry to post.

I agree with the basing...it doesn't fit DE well...unless its supposed to look like they're out raiding? As for the eye-glow effect, even if it doesn't look right, I still think it would look pretty cool as part of the color scheme. However, if you could manage a head-on shot, I would be able to get a better overall view of the effect and could then make a more informed suggestion. =P

What would you recommend for basing? Just black basalt that's been dry brushed a little. Or, something more obscure. As a whole, how do you feel about the model, excluding the rather awkward basing? :p

As a whole, its very well done. As for basing, that's completely up to you. If it were me, I'd probably stick with blacks and grays, with some black/scorched flock if you wanted the extra detail.

I was thinking bloody snow basing. It would be a stark contrast from the darkness of the model in general. It would help them stick out on the table.

Here's a shot of my Stormraven's base as an example of what I'm talking about. Sorry about the blurriness, but its a fairly decent shot.

Edit: Yea, that could work too, though how difficult it would be to do it well is beyond me.

Edit 2: Figured it might be easier to just post the shot here than have you go to my gallery, lol.

After talking to a friend, I've decided to add further detailing to the plates to try and draw the model out a bit. I like the effect. Here's the next test mini.
