That's...impressive. Are you intending to count it as a titan from 40k, or just have it as a display piece?

It will likely be just a display piece. I dont play 40k, but I do play a different 28mm system, so who knows, it may hit the tabletop sometime.

First hurdle will be just assembling it. Base kit has 142 pieces, plus the 2 optional claws.

I appreciate the pics, I've been watching marks design for over a year now and the kits look they will live up to expectations.

Thanks,

Main body assembled, mostly. Need to fill a couple gaps and sand before full assembly.

This is a good example of why this kit isnt for first timers. The waist hydraulics are a huge pain. Each strut is 4 pieces, one of which needs to be fitted and cut to length before assembly. If this was plastic it would be easy, but this resin takes super glue fast, and you dont have much time to get it together.

I only wish my pics would show the level of fine detail in this thing, it is amazing.

As far as mold release?...they felt pretty clean but I washed them in warm soapy water anyways. Better safe than sorry.

It has a great opportunity for posing. Im building mine in a pretty static pose, but there are many moveable joints and all the waist and leg hydraulics are pose able.

Theres a fair bit of dead space inside the main body that could house electronics, so with a little work it would be very possible to make the eyes glow.

Just had a look on the Dream-forge site. That looks absolutely awesome, what colour scheme you gonna paint it in? It looks like it would fit perfectly in a Grey Knights army, screw that bloody Dreadknight

Right because a game in which hobbits with sniper rifles, Geiger's aliens,Romanesque super soliders and WWI-WWII tanks fight Anime ripp-offs and "orcs" with guns this is a stretch...

Damn! $350. I love this model but I just can't justify paying a months rent for a model. You don't have a spare do you?

Some LEDs shining down over the spine/waist hydraulics area would be awesome. A good set of reds for the eyes, and for the exhaust stacks would be sweet too.

Not 100% sure of the paint. Im thinking of doing it a WWII German style mottled grey.

It does have a very GK feel to it, but at around 9 inches tall its a bit big for a dreadknight.

Yeah, its pricey. I got mine during the preorder, so I saved a little bit. Actually I was the first order, so technically this is Crusader #001. As a matter of fact that may get added to the paint scheme as its ID number.

for the spinal collumn i thought more of an eerie blue light... red eyes and the exhausts with lights would be even a set further down awsomeroad^^ with some nice billowing smoke coming out of them...
a grey paintjob or even that ugly green you got on nam tanks and stuff^^

Really excited to see this build. I gawked at it when the kit was first announced, then again when people started pre-ordering, but this is the first time I've seen the actual kit parts. It's a thing of beauty.

Here it is, standing all on its own w AoBR Marine for size.

Shot of the leg hydraulics

Waist hydraulics

Legs are shown without the extra armor. I wont be adding it until Ive done the base primer coat, as to allow it to get to the whole model.

Now is also a good time to talk about pinning. I will recommend a fair bit for this model. So far I have pinned the hip joints, ankle joints, and the spine where it joins the upper body and pelvis.

Would it have been possible to give him a bit wider stance (seems like he would tip over fairly fast)

Sub'd. Wanted to preorder one myself, but I pretty much went bankrupt just before preorders opened up. Maybe someday soon...

Considering its about the size of a warhound...

and Knights and Titans are two distinct entities. Please stop referring to knights as titans... Knights are Knights, Titans are Titans.
