After many test models and a bunch of horrid paint jobs I habpve designed the best painting style for me. This blog will track the progress of my Blood Angels successor chapter the Blood Falcon's. The paint scheme is based of the Knights of Blood paint scheme with some changes here and there.


Here are some pictures of my 6th Company 3rd Tactical Squad. This is just the initial base coat of Necron Abyss next is another coat or 2 of Necron Abyss after that comes the Mechrite Red.

Some of these Marines do not have a shoulder pad on the right shoulder. These marines are awaiting special should pads from http://custom-minis.blogspot.com/. I am attaching the rendering of the shoulder pads. All of these marines will have these.

That looks really cool. I love the design of the shoulder pads. I am looking forward to seeing the peices finally painted.

Just got the second coat of Necron Abyss on and now I am working on the Merchrite Red which like all water downed reds SUCKS to pain do to the need of a ton of layers.

Here is the Sergeant and 2 of the normal marines. They still need to be touched up, and some finishing touches but so far so good. The red is really annoying but looks amazing!

Here is the same sqad with the main colors but not touched up yet.

Ok bud I'll comment. I like the paint scheme and the chapter symbol a lot. I can't tell from the pictures but have you done any highlighting on the marines? Other than that bud keep up the painting and I'm looking forward to seeing color on that dread!

Sadly I have not completed any highlights just yet but i will be doing that within the next day or so.

You have some good ideas going, and I really like the dinged up dread. The paint scheme seems just a bit too garish, you might want to use a darker red so that it doesn't pop out so much from the blue. Other than that this is a good start!

Since they are a Blood Angls chapter the idea was to make the red stick out. This will be thrown around when I add the highlights.
