I have that army for a really long time now but never got to paint them all...
So I decided to go for the impossible and paint them all in a week for a turnament

Did not finish everything I planned, but most of it.
The kroot for example where left behind...
And I decided at 4 o'clock friday night that I'm not in the condition to paint the team markers on the hammerhead anymore. >.<

also note: some models where painted before, that's why I only painted 50 models in that week, and not 64^^

Never really been a fan of orange but you made it look good. I also like how you didn't go with a typical tau color scheme.

5 days 50 models? Wow I am impressed. Even though you did 50 models in a short period of time, each piece looks extremly detailed and well done. Nice job.

Wow.....I dont think I would have the stamina to handle painting that well that fast, how many hours would you say you spent each day painting models?

You see that one guy in the shady glasses, driving the shady van? I'm across the street from him.

This is probably the best-looking Tau army I've seen in months. The painting is excellent, but it's the color scheme that sells it for me--well done, sah!

Looks good. Nice work. Get yourself a soda or something, bask in the glory, then dive in and finish the rest.

You have a winning paint scheme here I have to say. Very nicely done.

I would like to see some individual photo's as well and all I can say is that I wish my paint scheme would allow me to do that many models in a week.

Beautiful work

I agree with all the above but i notice no-one has commented on the bases! Those lava bases are superb..I particularly like the red hot metal legs...nice touch!

How did you do the bases with the lava spots underneath them? Is it just red paint and then drybrushed black?

I can paint quantity or I can paint quality, but I cannot do both together. You have a gift my friend, churning out great looking models like this proves that the two can be combined! Nice work on the details and sticking to your goal!

: )

@Initiate in Waiting
It's a layer of red gore, followed by bloor red, blazing orange and golden yellow
(paint in thin layers and wait for them to dry before painting the next)
once all of them are dry I washed them with blazing orange,
mixed with eighter blood red or golden yellow to blur the lines a bit.
Normally you'd just use many more layers with mixed colors but obviously I hadn't the time here. ; )

The sand/rock is simply black drybrushed with codex grey.

The feet are dry brushed with a very watery mixture of the above colors, agan in thin layers to creat some kind of gradiant.

I like them, which surprises me as I really don't like the look of tau. You kept it simple and clean, with nice basing on the models you want to pop. Very nice, quick, inspiring work. Army in 5 days to that standard? I've never pulled that off!

The black colour scheme makes them look so menacing. Great work.

The best thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's far too late to stop reading it.
