Hello there! New user here in the forums I've been toying around with orks, playing mainly against Grey Knights (Ugh...), and I would like some advice on a 1500 point list (not only vs Grey Knights, lol) I have thought of.
HQ--------
Warboss - Powerklaw, kombi-shoota/skorcha, Boss pole, Cybork, Heavy armor - 110
Mek - KFF, Powerklaw, Cybork - 115
Elite------
Lootas x 5 - 75
Lootas x 5 - 75
Lootas x 5 - 75
Troops--
Slugga Boyz x 18(+1 nob) - 149
- Nob - Shoota, Powerklaw (Warboss goes with these guys).
Slugga Boyz x 18(+1 nob) - 154
- Nob - Shoota, Powerklaw, Bosspole (Mek with these guys).
Shoota Boyz x 22(+1 nob) - 2 Big Shoota - 173
- Nob - Big choppa, Bosspole, Heavy Armor
Slugga Boyz x 11(+1 nob) - 172
- Nob - Powerklaw, Bosspole
- Trukk - Big Shoota, Red Paint, Armor plates, Reinforced ram, Boarding plank (This thing's not going to ram anything...)
Fast------
Deffkopta - TL Rokkits, Buzzsaw - 70
Deffkopta - TL Rokkits, Buzzsaw - 70
Heavy---
Battlewagon - Big shoota, Deffrolla, red paint, armor plates - 130
Battlewagon - Big shoota, Deffrolla, red paint, armor plates - 130
Total - 1498 points.
PD: WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHH!!!!
PD: UPDATED AGAIN.
PD: Again, updated. Added some shoota boyz, and squeezed a powerklaw in there. I think I got the points right...

Welcome to dakka and the green team WAAAAGGGGHHH!!!.....alright now on to the list.
HQ--------
Warboss - Powerklaw, kombi-shoota, Boss pole, Cybork - 110
Mek - KFF, Powerklaw, Cybork - 120
Since the warboss is going with boyz that already have a bosspole he doesn't need one. Also is it a combi scorcha or rokkit? If scorcha then thats good but if rokkit switch it as a one shot weapon that hits on 5+ is not worth your points. Other than that maybe give him an attack squig.
The mek is really only a support role and is not that great in assault so I would drop the powerklaw ad cybork to keep him as cheap as possible. His whole job is to keep your boyz safe until they get in to smack some heads so as long as he does that he has done his job.
Elite------
Lootas x 12 - 180
I like lootas but I would split this into two 5 man squads so you can split your fire and different targets and cover more area. The big problem with lootas is that they have low ld and don't get a bosspole so they run really easily. Think about it 3 guys dead in that squad and you have to take a test which they will probably fail and then the whole unit is running off the board. Keeping them down to small units of 5 it makes it so losing one squad isn't a big deal and your opponent has to shoot more squads to take down the other lootas.
Burnaz x 12 - 180
I've never personally used burnaz but from what I have heard it's best to give them some kind of ride otherwise they are gonna get shot to pieces really quick.
Troops--
Slugga Boyz x 18 - 1 Big Shoota - 154
- Nob - Shoota, Powerklaw, Bosspole
I'm not sure that nobz are able to have a shoota and a power klaw as I'm pretty sure that to get the shoota in the first place you have to give up the slugga and choppa and you only take the power klaw by giving up the choppa. If I'm wrong then go ahead and take them but I was under the impression that you couldn't do that.
Slugga Boyz x 18 - 1 Big Shoota - 154
- Nob - Shoota, Powerklaw, Bosspole
same as above
Fast------
Deffkopta - Twin-linked rokkit - 45
Deffkopta - Twin-linked rokkit - 45
Deffkopta - Twin-linked rokkit - 45
The main way people use deffkoptas is as suicide units equipped with TL rokkits and buzzsaws to run at enemy tanks. If the rokkit doesn't work you smack them with the buzzsaw attacks to finish the job. It does make them 70 pts a model though so it's up to you to decide if it's worth it.
Heavy---
Killa Kanz x 3 - KMB x 2, Grotzooka - 185
First kans should all have the same gear so that they don't waste their shots targeting the wrong types of units. Second I really don't think KMB's are really worth it especially for their price. I would put either rokkits or grotzookas. Yes KMB's have ap 2 but there isn't enough 2+ saves to really make it worth getting in my opinion.
Battlewagon - Kannon, Deffrolla, red paint, boarding plank, armor plates - 140
Battlewagon - Kannon, Deffrolla, red paint, boarding plank, armor plates - 140
I would drop the kannons since you want wagons moving at full speed to get da boyz in as soon as possible so they won't have a chance to fire. If you want to take out troops thats what the deffrolla is for(which crushes tanks very easily as well). And since you are ramming with a deffrolla boarding planks aren't really worth it as I doubt very much that a tank is gonna survive getting crushed by all those str10 hits.
Total - 1498 points.
At 1500 pts I don't feel that you really have enough boyz to throw at the enemy and since you seem to be leaning towards battlewagon rush I would drop the kans and burnas(or at least give them a ride) for more boyz in either more battlewagons or trukks. Maybe even just take one or two suicide koptas for anti tank and get more boyz.

Ok, I made a few changes with what I've got...
- Split the lootas in 3 6-man squads.
- Gave the Warboss an attack squig and kombi skorcha.
- Mek no longer has cybork.
- Both BW now have a single big shoota, for the purpose of avoiding being immobilized turn 1.
- Added a trukk with 11 boyz + nob with big choppa and boss pole.
- No more burnaz. I'll try them at 2000 points.
- Another squad of 14 boyz + nob, getting cover thanks to the kanz. This couple units should serve as rear protection / capturing objectives.
- No deffkoptas... realized they do almost nothing in the games I played... Maybe 1/5 battles the destroy a single dreadnought or rhino, lol =( Then they get shot to death.
About those KMB... I'm going to fight against some friends that usually use Feel no Pain units/Terminators.
Those are the changes that I remember right now... See the first post for updates.
Thanks for the advice!

Hey just saw your message so lets see how things are going.
HQ--------
Warboss - Powerklaw, kombi-shoota/skorcha, Boss pole, Cybork, Attack squig, Heavy armor - 125
Mek - KFF, Powerklaw - 110
good although I still worry about the mek with a pk as he is an independent character and can be singled out and your opponent will pour attacks on him to take him out before he can strike. But if you try it and like it then more power to you.
Elite------
Lootas x 6 - 90
Lootas x 6 - 90
Lootas x 6 - 90
Good. Three squads can cover a lot more area and can pop multiple transports or harrass troops.
Troops--
Slugga Boyz x 18(+1 nob) - 1 Big Shoota - 154
- Nob - Shoota, Powerklaw (Warboss goes with these guys).
Slugga Boyz x 18(+1 nob) - 1 Big Shoota - 159
- Nob - Shoota, Powerklaw, Bosspole
Slugga Boyz x 14(+1 nob) - 105
- Nob - Shoota, Big choppa
Slugga Boyz x 11(+1 nob) - 1 Big Shoota - 132
- Nob - Big choopa, Bosspole
- Trukk - Big Shoota
I would rather see power klaws on all the nobz as those are gonna be the primary threat in the mob(and they can't be picked out in cc) but if you don't have the points there is nothing you can do about it.
Heavy---
Killa Kanz x 3 - KMB x 2, Grotzooka, Armor plates - 185
kans don't need armour plates. Since they are a vehicle squadron all stunned results get dropped to shaken anyway so take off the plates and give da nobz some power klaws. Oh and remember that an immobilized result in a vehicle squadron results in a vehicle destroyed.
Battlewagon - Big shoota, Deffrolla, red paint, armor plates - 130
Battlewagon - Big shoota, Deffrolla, red paint, armor plates - 130
I like these it's always good to keep things simple in orks and not shove a bunch of upgrades on anything.
Total - 1500 points.
I'm still not really a fan of the kans in this list in general as I've already stated since everything else is fast I would maybe add in some suicide koptas or wartrukks with rokkits to go tank hunting. Also you didn't say where the mek is going I would hope it's in one of the battlewagons because the meks kff works inside the vehicle and you measure from the hull of the vehicle to cover other areas. Other than that the only other advice I can think of is to just try out the list and see what works for you. Seeing things on paper and in a discussion is not the same as seeing it in action. So have fun with your list and good luck on your waaaagghh.

Ok, I made a few more changes with suicide koptas in mind Oh, and yeah, the Mech is going inside the other Battlewagon. No way I'm leaving him alone =(
I'm updating the main post, and now I'm getting happy seeing this list. Just realized that deffkoptas can turboboost scout move, that way they can pop rhino and other transports turn 1, lol.
And about those 2 nobz without powerklaws... I just don't have the mats to make a pair, and frankly, I prefer to slip more lootas or the koptas... But hey, Let's see how it works on the field xD
And, of course, MORE boyz. Either the BW get shot with melta/psicannon/whatever, or these boyz. If they get shot, BW can smash, if the BW get shot, more boyz go after the enemy. WIN/WIN!

I love deathsadvocates advice. But i personally find it more beneficial to dedicate to either kan wall or BW spam. I understand limitations to models and whatnot but just my two cents.

As the above said - when making an Ork list the best piece of advice I ever heard is this:
"Orks do one thing and they do it well"
What is that one thing? That's for you to decide! Do you want them to be shooty? Then go for it! Do you want a lot of orks in transports? Do it! Kan wall - stomp away! Tide? whooosh!
That said your updated list looks great. However, there is one concern. You have a unit in there which is on foot. I would drop them to a 12 unit squad of boys and trukk them up!
Otherwise, have fun in the waaagh!!

I also thought of that buuuut... I don't have another trukk, and if I want to hold a capture point with them, it will be easier being a big mob than only 12 guys in an easily destroyed vehicle. Once destroyed, 3-4 boyz will die, then they'll get charged, and loose the control point. Being a huge mob, I can WAAAAGH to the attacking squad and possibly, defend the last control point. At least, that's what I hope for xD In annihilation matches... well yeah, the trukk may come in handy. But a good list should be able to function in every situation.

Errrrm... what the hell is that . supposed to mean? O__o
Okay, so I managed to squeez some more points here and there, and made a last adjustment on the list. The mob of orks is being converted to Shoota Boyz with 25 boyz this time, I'm moving the Big Shoota from the Trukk squad (what was I thinking...?) to the mob (more shots! if none gets killed... That's like... 53 shots! Something's going to hit, dammit!), and gave the trukk squad a Powerklaw instead of an attack squig to the Warboss.
Any more thoughts? I really like how this is looking... Gorgeous Waaaagh...

I'd drop the shoota boys for lootaz. They are cheaper and better in many ways. Give the wagons big shootas, so the can't get immobilized on a weapon distroyed, and grot rigger to fix them when they can't move. This is for the first list so if you already changed it in someways then sorry lol. Also remember ramshackle for ur trukk. It will always help.

Lootas can't hold objectives, that's the main reason for that. And about the trukk... It will probably get shot down turn 1, so I'm not caring about that.

Well, I swapped the Warboss for a SAG, added some grots, a 3 more lootas, got rid of the trukk, and tried the list against GK... Lost 4-8, he was using 2 dreadnoughts with autocannons, a rhino, assault squad inside rhino, land raider, purifiers with crowe inside, and a termie squad. Managed to destroy everything except 3 termies, 4 purifiers (crowe and some more got owned by the SAG, gotta love this lil bastard) and a dreadnought (the damn thing killed my mek with claw, and the nob only hit with 1/4 of the attacks, and not even a glancing ._.)... Oh, and forgot my shootas at home, so I played with way less points...
Is that a good start? My friend has years of experience playing 40K.
