Very nice Decals on these tanks and Im really liking your scenery It screams out "Eldar craftworld" one issue though... can the tanks still shoot there shurikens?

None of the tanks pictured utilise decals, except for the fire prism in the groupshot!

All of those runes and tribals are freehands (except for the Prism)

I'd be glad for some votes

First up, the Trio Infernale consisting of 2 Wraithlords and the Avatar - I love those guys and use every excuse I can get to have a game with those big bad burly mother.... you know the rest.




Then we got a set of 4 Rune-themed Serpents. Any Autarch knows that you don't leave home without some DAVUs in Serpents - so I usually just get 4 of those guys and zoom the around the board. Notice that these all share a runic theme, as opposed to the more tribal-dragonesque one of the 3 Serpents following later. These guys carry around Dire Avengers








Next up: the 3 Serpents carrying Firedragons - naturally, all Dragon themed Serpents whom I enjoyed painting very much. Basically I stick some Starengines and Spiritstones on there, boost them into the enemys face turn 1, have them vomit out the Firedragons and BAMM.
15 Seconds later there's 5 dead Firedragons and a smokin Landraider (as well as an enemy wondering wth just happened.) If you do NOT recognize that (imperfect) quote, I got it from here...: http://wasted-knights.blogspot.com/2010/06/joys-of-melta.html














Hornets! I love the models (though I left the strange things sticking out the sides off) and the rules!
They lose 10pts compared to a Falcon, but get 4s8 shots, no tank, only av11, no transport capacity --> I've seen people on the Internet proclaim that they suck.
Those people suck. Hornets are expensive and rightfully so - they add the option of having another 3 quasi-Falcons at a higher output, with Scout and everything, 36" move yadda yadda. Most importantly though, after you got your basic tanks (say, 4 serpents, 3 falcons) you can still add substantial firepower (4s8 shots a pop!) in the Fast Slot with those guys. (Wich, ironically, is seldomly seen: The Eldar FA slot sucks, imho.)
Love those guys, and I really hope they get incorporated into the next dex.









the 2 Finished (out of 7 or so in total) Falcons One of them I did in the last weeks of my military duty, the other one I did during vacation on the beaches of Turkey. Love both, had to fill up the empty space in the front to gain more room for freehands - worth it.

Such amazing work. I wish I could play against this army! This is art.

(Wich is also a reason for why there's chipped paint everywhere, or why I have to convert that stuff every now and then: Heavy duty gear being used in tournaments at least every second Weekend. All that gaming puts quite the strain on the models....)

Your vehicles offer so much to look at. Your freehand work is very impressive, I can imagine these took awhile to complete. Fantastic paint jobs on all of them!

You've got great stuff there man. I'm luving all of it. Question though....do you not run any weapons on your Wraithlords? They're only carryinghand weapons.

That is correct, If I run them, I run them with the blade only for 100pts flat

Fantastic freehand work, definatel top knotch. The wraithlord converstion on the left is my personal fav of the lot.

Not too big a fan of the enclosed Falcon front though, takes away alot from the overall ascetics of the model.

I agree, actually. It makes the whole thing look a lot more "plumb" as opposed to "sleek, aerodynamic, fast"

However, I was partial to it, I started it, got done on the first Falcon and thought "Well... I like having so much space as a canvas for painting."
So I did it to a second one and took it to Turkey for painting.
Now I'm finishing up the third of the lot.



However, since I do agree with you, and since I do have alot more chassis availeable (and can always buy more), I'll be doing Falcons w/o the filled up front. Instead, I'll try to elongate the "wings" on his front to the sides a little bit to create more space... and I'll probably make the drivers pod dissapear to get a bigger surface area for painting


I am cropping & editing pictures as I type - and these should be better (as I won't be making the mistake of comprimizing a .jpg again).





On the menu today: Farseers with boobs, Firedragons, a lone Dire Avenger, some Warwalkers, a Vyper or two and a shot of some bases

Well, nvm what I just wrote - it's way too bright outside right now, and I don't have a proper lightbox etc... :(
So just half a dozen new pictures (or so):


First up, the Avatars of War Dark Elf Sorceress - converted to be a female Farseer essentially I just sculpted some armour on, plus some Gems on said armour, redid her face (to have a blank faceplate - once I get to my Infantry (DarkEldar and Eldar), you'll notice that blank faceplates are a little bit of a theme running through parts of the army)







Next we got a Vyper (the other one isn't done painting, so it's in my gallery, but NOT here in the Showcase). I originally had some more. Then DE came out and I converted 3 of my best painted vypers to be Venoms from this day forth. Worked good, right now I'm working on painting a converted set of hangers on for each of the venoms



Finally: Warwalkers - all 6 of them were pretty rushed jobs, as I had to get them done in time for a tournament (and got rewarded: I won best painted on that tournament... wich was also coupled with a ticket to the most sought after and sold-out-4-months-beforehand tournament here in germany (The Rhine Maine Masters, oder: Die Rhein Main meisterschaften). At the RMM, I only placed 2nd best painted (still got a tiny medal though! )
Although I was pressed for time, I still managed to sneak in a little insider joke: My Walkers always get cought up in CloseCombat with Guard Infantry (due to flanking, nuking a chimeras side and then charging the innards). The guy standing on the middle base is "Sarge" from Schaeffers last Chancers (the dirty dozen-esque guard unit), but painted in red and black with a symbol corresponding to the Brotherhood of Nod (of Command and Conquer theme). My buddy got his whole guard painted to the Nod-theme, with a cigar case including his Manticor-missiles...

Love your painting, absolutely beautiful. However, those photo's of them teetering near a balcony edge made me really anxious, I can't stop myself worrying about a gust of wind, even now...

Fantastic work you've done! it brings me back to the Eldar armies from the 90's! but it works well, especially as your execution of painting the solid theme is amazingly well done! would have taken a few years to complete I think!

Awesome work. I'm loving all of your stuff. Very inspired Farseer. Myself, I find it very hard to do major non symmetrical paint schemes....but man yours are beautiful and very crisp jobs all the way around.

Do you use an airbrush in any of your stages?

If I had an airbrush - I definitely would.

Sadly, I don't, so it's all hard brushwork for me...

You should get one. Clearly you have the artistic touch. I'd love to see what you could roll out with an airbrush.
