Any suggestions for a background colour for this? Also any ideas for a name?

Well if you could, I think outlining the circle with a thick ring of black might make the pinup 'pop' some more. For what colors you have now, the white seems to work fine, and anything else could make it detract from the rest of the model.

I'd go with a red band, outlined in black, inside and out.

"Bombshell" comes to mind. Play on it being a close air support craft, and the "blonde bombshell" on the nose.
