Angry Blood Angel Assault marine
Close to Maddness, Far from Safe

I've read online about how the Forge World books, of course, have rules for Forge World models but I have also heard about them having other helpful rule additions such as, and most importantly for me, additional space marine chapter rules for some of the lesser know chapters.
However them rule books are pretty expensive and I don't want to buy any without good reason. So I wanted to ask some experts to give me a run down on the ups and downs of the Forge World books.
Please and Thanks!

The books past Imperial Armour Volume 2 contain scenarios and other fun stuff.
They're pretty good books, all in all. High quality paper, good binding, good artwork.
The downside is that the rules and proofreading range in quality from fantastic to atrocious. Automatically Appended Next Post:
That bottom shelf is from the very left to about the middle, nothing but Forge World's Imperial Armour stuff.
I would not change a dang thing about how much I've spent on them.

So you'd say they have alot of good quality stuff that would not only be fun to read but add some good gameplay too?

Indeed they do.
The Vraks books add some nice "Siege" scenarios.
Raid on Kastorel-Novem adds a nice narrative campaign arc, and the Badab War books added a veritable swathe of special characters for Space Marine Chapters ranging from the well-known(Raptors and Astral Claws) to the relatively obscure (Minotaurs and Novamarines), and even went so far as to "reinvent" the Space Sharks into the "Carcharadons Astra".

They have excellent fluff and some expansionary rules on the main codices.
There is a list which combines IG and Space Marines(For the Badab war)
I belive there is another one which allows you to swap out Sergeants for Apothecaries.
The IG get several new lists including Armored Company, Death Korps of Krieg, and Elisien Drop Troops.
Orks get more Mek orientated lists(Spanna Boyz, which are basically Slugga/Choppa ork boyz that have Mek Tools, Mega Dreds...)
Then there is the horror of the Grotskrieg tank lists.
Eldar get a few spiffy things like Warwalkers with jump jets, some tank varients, and a whole new Aspect Shrine.
Tau have those awsome XV9 suits.

The FW books are pretty great. Some better than others to be sure and the price is a bit steep. The price is understandable though considering the subject matter and the low volume.
I happen to be a fan and have purchased them all as I try to get every source of fluff available.

I really like the FW books and mini's great work and fairly balanced against itself.
FW being one of I believe 3 studios authorized by GW to be able to create IP They do a wonderful job.
Since I have both their Badab War editions which back in the original edition was something that got me into 40k it was nice to see it fleshed out and brought up to date.
Really looking forward to when they put out their Eldar campaign book and see what they have in store for us.

I love the Forge World books they are in fact great books upon themselves and i've recently started building a badab era marine chapter of the Mantis Warriors, Which has neat fluff and allows for a different play style. But as someone said above the rules for some items in the books do range from the crappy to very good.
