Someone made a new thread about this, it was closed and a mod told us to post in the old thread. Then THAT thread was closed by a different mod and we were told to make a new thread.... Come on mods.... what do you want from us?

Bartertown is offline due to difficulties.... the page reads simply "Let's start again Monday".

If anything changes, please update this thread!

Adam, the site owner, is working frantically in his free time to fix God only knows what the hosting company did. As an Admin, I can still get into the site. I can confirm that everything was still there as of this morning. It's just currently unavailable.

Since Adam works the day shift, you can count on him not probably getting any more time on the site until this afternoon/evening.

Thanks for the update, Eric. Hopefully things will be resolved in short order and we can all get back to our wheeling and dealing.

Wow, didnt we just have a thread about this?

Couldnt resist. In all seriousness, just tried the site a few minutes ago and still down. Is it just me or does bartertown seem to be doing this a bit more frequently in recent months?

I wouldn't say "more frequently." I'd say we had a couple issues. Saying "more frequently" implies that it's a regular occurrence that's becoming more commonplace.
The host service had an issue in the early summer. We were down for two weeks because they screwed things up dramatically & Adam had to rebuild the site from the ground up, basically. It was another 2 weeks before all of the minor details were back. That was 3 months ago.

Now, the host has had another issue (I don't know the kind or cause of the issue) that caused the delays and time outs. Adam brought the site down himself for about a day and a half while he sorted it, rather than let the host do what they did in the summer time. he wasn't going to let it get to that point again.

Since switching hosting companies a couple years ago, these are the first real issues we have had with them.

Hey MM, my bad dude. Not trying to poke holes in BB. It's a good site and I have concluded deals there ranging from very small to more-than-my-first-car. I guess I am just spoilt because the first years iI was a member I missed any and all problems you guys did have.

Bah.
No offense taken.
I just saw an opportunity where some background would be appropriate and I responded.

I'm glad you've had good deals there. Stick around. Now that we've got a second person who can add functions, we're taking advantage of it. : )

The site's been taken down temporarily. Adam's working on something.
Just got an email from him minutes ago. He expects it to last a couple hours.
