Weird sort of delima now, since introducing my wife to table top, she went through several phases - orks, hating tanks, liking blood angels, and now she's onto chaos and she just loves the models. Dunno if she cares much about the fluff at all actually. heck, she even likes the chaos tanks.

So my question is now, should I go get her some chaos army second hand so she can play now or try to make her paint up her own stuff over time?

I dunno much about chaos either especially since I'm a GK/IG player (lol). Any suggestions on what build would be least challenging for a beginner chaos player? (only strat she seems to like so far is "ALL CHARGE WAAAARRRGGG!!" from the orks )

Lash lists are a good Choices.

Lash your opponents into a bunched circle and hit them with Oblits.

I like Slaanesh termies. Hit at I5

If she's going for WAAGH tactics, Berserkers would work well for murder, while Plague Marines are good at outlasting their opponents. A Daemon Prince/Sorcerer with MoS and Lash can help both of them, while Kharn or a Chaos Lord with MoK and a daemon weapon adds punch to the Berserkers. Rhinos and Land Raiders for transport and Obliterators or Havocs to back it all up.

Unfortunately only the Emperor's holy fire can clean the taint of Chaos. Get your flamer and annointing oils ready.

I agree with Harriticus. Turn her over to the Inquisition and spare yourself and the rest of us from Exterminatus.

Perhaps do a mix, get some second hand stuff and some new stuff. Strip the paint off of the second hand stuff.

That way she has some to use for now and also some to build.

Tell her to worship Slaanesh.

Talk with her and build a list with her (using the helpful hints from Dakka^2). From there, find what her favorite models are in the list, buy those and work over time.

Give her a kiss and a big hug. If that fails, the Emperor's Mercy will do.

Now seriously, I've also been tempted by the lures of Chaos but so far I'm holding the sinister urge. I like my armies somewhat competitive, but with the new codexes coming out, Chaos, Orks, Eldar and Tau don't belong to the A-List anymore. Pity, as I collect both Tau and Orks and don't want to get stuck with another outdated army to be mercilessly krumped by all those GK, DE, IG, SM and now Necrons out there...

Also, I love the minis but some of them are in dire needs of an update... Right now some of the chaos-y stuff is standard SM with extra brass and spikes. Not too wicked and twisted for my tastes. Judging from some of the Chaos minis in the FW range, GW can do much better.

The date when the astral bodies align again and Chaos reigns supreme can't be too far, so I advise patience.

If she likes the chaos tanks, why not telling her to go Iron Warriors? They're quite awesome, have nice rules and look great on the tabletop.

Well. She seems to like choppy things.
I would suggest either Khorne things or Slaanesh.
Khorne is all "BLAAARGHGHGHGHG", like your wife likes.
Slaanesh beats you with "wet noodles" really, really fast.

I'd suggest building an army around three Defilers, why? Because they are giant cannon toting robotic deamon engines of death!

Run a Black Crusade campaign for her, see if that gets it out of her system >.<

I'm having a hard time trying to put together something based on all these things. Maybe have the chaos knights count as mounted bloodletters or as bikers? Sanguinary guard as raptors lead by a termy chaos lord somehow with corrupted wolf riders as uh.. something or other?
In terms of tanks, she likes the defilers alot but dislike demons except fateweaver looks cool to her. She really hates tau (no interest in the greater good even when I explained it lol), finds tyranids just too wierd, and necrons too boring. IG are just kind of OK but too plain.

So far she seems to perfer the black legion colors. Not too much a fan of the slanneshy purple or nurgle greens.
