Hey gang.

So, here's my AOBR Terminator Sergeant conversion/kitbash.

Working title: Sariel Thead (Sariel being an archangel of death and Thead being an anagram of Death. Double Death FTW? )

C&C very mucb appreciated. Keep in mind that he's not been tidied up properly yet or GS'd.
I've just been kit bashing this model forever and finally have something I like and am looking for C&C before continuing .

Thanks guys!

Yo dawg, we heard you like wings so we put wings on your wings so you can fly while you fly!

The Jump Pack looks a bit silly on Terminator Armour.

May I ask how, exactly?

The image doesn't show the back of the model or the way the jetpack is glued o.O So I'm curious as to the grounds your comment is based on.

Or do you think that jump-packs on Termies looks odd in general?

If that's the case, it was a personal choice.
I wanted the option to mix and match his wargear and the squad he joins.

For example, my Vanguard all have wings so he'd be right at home with them jumping into the heart of the enemy

Mainly due to the scale, if you could create a larger Jump Pack then sure, go for it, but they're just a bit too small, especially the BA single-turbine ones, to really look realistic on Terminator Armour.

That's a pretty nice kit bash. You did a good job replacing the model's head with the skull. Those heads are in there pretty good - I've dug the sergeant's out before and it was a pain.

I can see that downward-facing sword on the side of the lightning claws causing some problems when he makes a Wolverine-style snickety. Same thing goes for the claws if he's making a nice downward chop with the sword.

Jump packs on termies is a critique I have as well. Unless he represents a winged Daemon in a Chaos list, I don't see the model representing a valid build in any marine codex, so depending on the lassitude your gaming group gives you with custom characters this guy might be sitting on the sidelines. That said, I think the wings look pretty cool on the model.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

Hrrm.

I kinda see what you mean.
However, luckily I used Astorath the Grim's jump-pack which is a tiny bit bigger than standard Sanguinary Guard packs.
the wings also give it a bit more UMPH, imo.

The picture posted doesn't do it justice, but holding the model I can see that there's not really a problem with proportions.
I feel that the smaller head (a resin Khorne Exalted Warrior) and the wings (also from Astorath, but trimmed) negate the size of the termy armour, which isn't THAT big anyway. I've always found that the AOBR Termy armour feels smaller than regular termy kits... Probably because they're desgined that way, being snapfit and all.

Thanks man.

Yeah, the AOBR models are great to convert but a tad tedious.
Amazingly, I even managed to save this models head o_o' Don't ask me how, rofl.

Basically, he represents a Chapter Master. As such, I've given him a massive amount of choice on the field of battle.
That's just my personal view of what a Chapter Master should be like. Sariel Thead represents the very bes of the chapter and as such has access to the very best wargear. As for playing a game... Not likely to happen any time soon xD

I'm usually working and don't intend to play my army to it's painted, and as of yet, it's not even fully built. *Facedesk*

Also, I see what you're saying about the added extending blades.
That's more of a showy-off thing. I imagine him keeping the blades sheathed and then extending them when he picks up an enemy with the claw.
Double stabby stab stab ftw?
