so, I'm thinking about making my own Killa Kans. I recently came into possession of a plethora of the acorn style toy capsules:

Now, I'm wondering if it would be too much work to try and convert these into nice looking kans. I've seen Ratapult's Kinder Kans, and those look awesome. The kinder capsules are a much more appropriate shape for kans. Would it be too much work to try and hide the seam around the edge, or does anyone have an idea how to incorporate it?

I played with the idea of turning them into flying saucers and using it as a Deffkopta, but I need kans in my army and would love to make use of the materials i already have.

Kans don't necessarily need to be can-shaped. If the size is comparable, any sort of killy robot/vehicle could be proxied, so long as it has the appropriate weapons/wargear options modeled, as well. I could easily see these things with crab legs and big pincer CCWs. You could just as easily slap them on tank treads, chicken legs, or whatever else you wanted.

With the seam left alone and the rounded top cupped in the base, it looks as if the cockpit (and anything attached to it) is meant to rotate. You might consider using demolition/excavation machines as inspiration.

Wow, thanks! That helps a lot, now I have somewhere to go with these. I really like the construction vehicle idea, I'm gonna play with that a bit.
