I have been legally blind for most of life. I literally can't see anything beyond 2-3 feet.
I just had a procedure called a vitrectomy to suck out all my vitreous and replace it with saline. All went well, my eye pressure is a bit low but nothing to worry about as it is common at this point in time.
Has anyone else had this surgery before? or any eye problems before?
This is the surgery I had.
It is pretty cool to see from the inside (I was awake diring the surgery)
apologies for spelling errors, I am still blurry-eyed
Sorry, I couldn't get through more than about 20 seconds of it. I have minor issues with vitreous opacities, but they're just annoying when I'm looking at a computer monitor or I'm outside. They don't actually cause me any real vision issues. I WOULD NOT be able to maintain myself during an eye surgery though.

It's really not that bad. I had zero pain during or after the surgery.
I know a lot of Health Care paramedics who get freaked out by eyes, its quite funny. Someone comes in with eye injury and they are no where to be seen.
All the best mate, not sure if I could have had needles in my eyes personally so kudos for that.

Never assume anything, it will only make an ass of you and me.

I hope no one sees this as a thread necro or spamming or whatever.
A friend of mine found this video on youtube, basically a perspective of someone with multiple or large floaters from either a PVD or otherwise.
Curious to know if anyone suffers from this as well. This is basically what goes on in my eyes, no long my left eye anymore after surgery, but my right eye is much worse. my right eye is about 90 percent or so black.
I have those in one of my eyes. Not nearly as pronounced as shown in the video though. Just sort of a little line that's just to the side of whatever I'm looking at directly. Doesn't really impact my vision, but it gets distracting sometimes.
EDIT: Heh. This IS an old thread. I realized I just said basically the same thing earlier.

Yea it is, I was reading this thinking to myself "what a small world, someone else had this very same problem" You getting your other eye done soon or what?

Yeah that is me right there, not that I am a paramedic or anything, but eye injuries, yeeeow.
I am guessing there a very very few nerve endings, other than your optical one in that location?
