Hey guys, I think its about time I started a P&M blog for my necrons, so this is what I have to do for the coming months:

.) Retouch all units of my army, basically rebrushing boltgun metal to every model in order to remove some blue bands I had previously painted on.
.) Stock up on some of the new additions, in fact, I should be getting some Lychguard soon enough...


Here I have my Overlord, 2 out of the 5 destroyers, a necron warrior and my newly assembled Immortals. I bet you're wondering, 'why does that Overlord missing the warscythe?'...simple,nI found it a bit too awkward, being so thin and frail, I knew I would have some problems in the coming future, so Im waiting to grab a box of lychguard, take a Rod of Covenant and doll it up a bit, also using some other pieces to make the bottom of the shaft a little more decorative.

Painting wise, this is my new take on my old scheme, some of you may point out the glare on some pieces, thats just the light glaring off the ardcoat. I also attempted a glow effect for the Overlord's Ress orb, I think it came pretty decent.

Very nice Necrons, keep up the good work. I like the blue shoulders.

I finished the first unit of 17 warriors...2 units to go!
Ill should be finishing up the remaining 3 destroyers this evening, also, pray that I get the lychguard soon, I want to keep this blog alive

Jokes aside, this is what I did for the blue trimmings...

1) paint around the edges with watered down enchanted blue, and when I say watered, I mean that when it dries it can hardly be seen, just for a blue depth.
2) paint again but with a bit of skull white added, just to lighten up the blue a bit (still watered down)
3) When thats dried up, mix a 50:50 mix of Enchanted blue and skull white (this time dont water anything down, but make sure that you dont put on thick coats) and paint around the borders, and tips of the spine.
4) Final thin highlight of Skull white

In the picture, I completely forgot the final highlight of skull white, I just added them on now

Just looking for extra ideas on my guys, thanks for the idea. Not sure what I will use, debating on going with scropian green for more of a glow effect but I already use scorpian green a lot so who knows what I will use but I like the something extra on warriors.

You could always use this, you could try other colours rather than scorpion green.

The Destroyers and Monolith are complete

As you can see, 2 of the destroyers bases are missing, I got them second hand from a guy at school, and he had glued the stem to the model and it obviously broke
Are there any alternatives to getting a base for them? should I just get 2 GW bases or make something out of 40mm Bases?

Sorry I havent been able to get to this blog, so much work to do

I wanted to list down I couple of things that I have finished, almost finished and still in queue...

Overlord - Painted but unbased, still need to make the weapon conversion
Lychguard - Still need to buy them
Immortals - one unit assembled, still need to buy the other
Warriors - One unit all painted and based, 2 units to go
Wraiths - Final stages of painting
Monolith - Completed
Destroyers - Completed
Command Barge - Still need to buy, also thinking about it

Thats all so far, I may fit something else into the list, I was thinking of converting an Illuminator Szeras from a destroyer, tomb spyder and death mark pieces. I should be doing something tomorrow, until then!

Something you can do with your destroyers is get some small magnets, drill out a little hole to set them in on the destroyer, clip off the end of the flying stem, and glue those magnets on. It makes flying bases a snap to work with.

The 3 destroyers who have bases are ok as they are, the GW pin and hole thing with the bases work just fine. I was thinking of making 2 scenic bases for the 2 baseless ones, or just go straight ahead and get 2 more bases...

I honestly think it looks good as-is, but perhaps a few thin highlights of Adeptus Battlegrey would do the trick?

Yeah, you want some (subtle) edge highlights on the carbine, imo

I did a quick drybrush of skull white making sure to only hit th most promenant areas, I still haven't found the time to continue, but by next week I should finish the immortals, the wraiths and hopefully, just hopefully...I'll get the lychguard :(
