Well I have posted in the past pieces of my army and thought why not just start one thread for them all so I can add as I go along. I have names for all my HQs, and Elites. I can't give you a total point value for my chapter, because the number just keeps going up as I acquire good deals. I'll start with my lastest not finished, but in progress a lot of the bases are simple because when you play on different fields I kind of want them to look natural. Again I'm not a pro at this I used to paint car models, and wanted more of a challenge so here I am.

(not named yet in progress)

First night 2 hours

2nd night 2 more hours

3rd night 2 more hours

That is the Ultra Marines Chapter master with my color scheme. Name to come.

Home made chapter master which will become something else. Notice the Tyranid Pieces.

I will Post more tomorrow of the rest of the chapter so far. I would post more, but I don't have the names memorized. If it seems like I paint slow take into account I work more than the average person, because of the military so the time I get to paint is only about 2 hours because of that, and a family. Like tonight should be day 4 with 2 more hours to work, but I have to be at work tonight so I miss out.Hope you all will come back and visit every time I update.

Nice job, it might be better to have the power coil on the plasma pistol be a different color to make it stand out but other than that looks real good. Do you have a dread done? Cause I,d like too see that.

Looking good. It's also worth investing in some primer for your models, as it makes the painting much easier and works better for the colours than going over bare metal.

Only trouble i have had with multiple costs is the gold. I lay down White first then the gold other than that i dont have to go over much. I paint different then most I paint on the spruce then assemble then highlight. kinda like on the model in progress. I only have his arm and pack, then some highlighting.

yes i do have a dread ill post it up tomorrow. I could post up to about 90 pics but I think I'll just post full squad pictures to drop the number down some.

Well seems this is not worthy enough to post in the showcase area where I orginally put it. This is going to be completed models I just started with one to show how I paint. Anyways here is the rest of my army.

Capt Dorotheos

Chaplain Stamatios

Brother Dardanos

Assualt Squad

Terminator Squad

Tactical Squad 1

Tactical Squad 2

Drop Pod

Rhino

Scout Squad

The rest I have left to paint is one more dread which I'm about half way through, a predator tank, a bike, another chaplin, a tech marine, about 4 or 5 terms, and about 5 more tactical marines. So I don't have much left unless I get another lucky lot on craigslist that I can get a lot for a little. Again I will keep this updated as I go the chapter master should be done with a day or two so I'll add those pictures, also I have a stern guard I'm waiting to come in the mail so one more thing to add to the list.

Well tonight I finished my chapter master. It is the ultra marines' with a twist. I liked his abilities, and wanted to geth him just didn't want to spend $16 on him. I ended up getting a lot on craigslist and low and behold he was in it making my day. I finished him after 4 nights of 2 hours each all hand painted. I hope you enjoy tomorrow I will explain the reason why there are 5 blue tacticals in one of my units. He looks wet, but it is just the picture. I also still need to drill out the gun, and do the base, but that will be for another day. I have most of my army to drill guns out so I will do it then. Hope you enjoyed this one. Tomorrow starts a new mini, I'm thinking the tech marine.

Well tonight I dedcided to only paint for about an hour so I could play some Xbox, but this is what I started out of all the stuff I have left to paint I decided to go with the tech marine. So I started with some base and some detail work on one of his legs the best part I want to get to his sword, but that will come in the next couple days. I didn't have his power axe, because I got him in a lot so I decided to make like a drill power sword. Well I think I have made you wait long enough here are the pictures.

I like this one good effort mate.

But one tip the paint appears to be laid on a bit thick the details are definted the trims the symbols but the paint still looks very thick on there. You need to thin the paint just a little and then smaller brush strokes may apply the paint better.

"Ooh, a big flashy lighty thing! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually, but give me time. And a crayon!" ...

1 inquisitor, not even a inquisitor lord, and the other 2955pts went into orbital bombardment lance strikes.

Thanks I know it looks thick, but it all works out when I add the wash every time I do a pewter model it looks thick then ends up lying out pefect when I finish with the wash I'll look into though thanks.

Well I got another night of painting in, and I felt like I got a lot accomplished which is always a good thing. I'm thinking like 2 more days on this, and he should be close to done. Well ok I'll stop the waiting game you can see the pictures now. You can't really tell, but you wil once the gun is painted that his left arm is bio-mechanical. Looks better in person, but then again I think everything looks better in person pictures never do any justice. So next paint session I think I will have the rest of his body done just a lot of cabling to paint and his servo harness, so we will see where I end up on my next session.

Got some more time in tonight got a lot accomplished considering all of the wires that needed to be painted, and all the small scale stuff. I did snap the sword when I was working up glued it back on so it should be good as new.

Well I only got about an hour in because I had to get a uniform ready for an inspection, but I got some done. I also started on the servo arm as well but only a base of black on the arm, so I didn't take a picture of it. Once I get that done I will start the washes and high lights, and he will be a done deal.

Hell Benders? I hope their Chapter icon is some sort of salamander! I did some field work with hellbenders, scuba diving to catch them for data and radio tagging. Also called water dogs, snot otters, or if you're technically inclined, Cryptobranchus alleganiensis.

Ugly bastards.

Keep up the painting. I take it the lack of primer is because of your living situation?

I agree it does seem odd, but I'm not one to fall into the ranks sometimes. I have tried the primer method one time and I felt I was doing more coats to cover the black then I was just painting. Also now that I use an air brush on the less detailed guys I can get a very nice base coat of scab red without it. Like on a big model like a rhino a lot of the time is cut out because of that air brush. I just got it so I'm not expert still trying to learn tricks with it. Mainly got it to base coat a lot of stuff really quickly.

Yes it is the salamander I was underway, and since being underwater on a sub you have no internet next best thing is the Dictionary. Was looking for a cool name and stumbled across this name, and it stuck.

Well I told you all I would talk about the fluff of why there are 5 blue tactical marines in one of my tactical squads. Well if you notice there is one Marine that has a black knee for his armour. Ok nevermind can't be seen in the picture, but there is only one with a black knee. He added this color to his armour because he and his brother were both accepted to become space marines he was accepted into the ultramarines, and his brother into the hell benders. He was fighting a battle on a planet near the home planet of the hell benders, and he was down to the last 5 guys in his squad. Which he was only deployed with a full squad of ten. His communicator to contact the ultra marines was not strong enough, so he used it to try and get ahold of his brothers chapter. Finally after some time defending the position got ahold of the chapter which he asked for support from. They responded and evacuated them from the planet in debt to his brothers chapter for saving his life to fight in future battles now serves with the hell benders to repay his debt. Now both brothers serve in the same tactical squad destoying any enemy that gets in their way.

Well tonight I got pretty far on my one biker marine. I was able to spray it the base color during the day so that saved me some time this evening. Well I got a lot done so here are the pictures of what I think is a great start.

Well that was my night I also got a chance to take a picture of what I have done so far in my chapter. The main piece that I'm missing is my predator tank other than that everything is ready for a battle. a few could use some base work, but that is to come. Well here is the hell benders chapter so far, and it is just going to keep getting bigger. I have another dreadnought, predator, biker (as seen above), 5 more terms, a combat squad, and another chaplain to add. still got some work to do.

Well tonight I finished up the biker which is a good thing cause I'm about to go on vacation and wanted to end on a high note. Well I went retro on him and gave him white wall tires just to add to the biker theme. I'm gonna get some of the blue wash when I get back to add to the pipes to give them a glow. Also i'm going to drill out the pipes once I take the time to drill out all of the barrels on my chapters guns I should probably get on that.

Well I almost got completely done with another guy, but was doing a lot of different things and decided to mess around I have to highlight and wash him still but the glue is drying so I'll pick him back up when I get home from vacation. So this post will be a little dead for about 10 days, but will pick right back up once I get back. Hopefully will have a few old school models when I get back.

Get a black wash or something on them, and finish the bases. 2 simple steps to make them look much better.

After the orbital strikes, Thunderhawk bombardments, Whirlwinds, Vindicators, fusion and starfire and finally Battle Brothers with flamers had finished cleansing the world of all the enemies of Man, we built a monastery in the center of the largest, most radioactive impact crater. We named the planet "Tranquility", for it was very quiet now.

Well Vacation was successful I got some great models for cheap. I got 16 of 18 harlequins with the box, 24 of 30 rogue trader space marines with the box, a harlequin jetbike, 2 mk1 marines, some rogue trader terms, some ral partha models, and a champion of chaos for the fantasy side. so it was great waiting on an older predator tank also. So I would say it was a great vacation. painting starts back up tomorrow.

Well I skipped a night and decided to play Space Marine instead since I missed the chaos unleashed release because of vacation. So tonight I decided to keep it simple and painted up another terminator. Tomorrow I'm gonna start working on some old rogue trader terms so keep an eye out for the in progress pictures tomorrow.

Well I have been thinking all day on how to put a librarian together for my chapter. I have two old grey knights models and one looks like a librarian for sure in term armour, but I couldn't find any arms I liked for it. Then it hit me why not us the oop daemon hunter I have. It looks a lot like a librarian as well, so tonight I started on which should be a great addition to the hell benders. If you look at his eyes I made them red with a yellow pupil to make his power kinda glow from him.

So I ordered some stuff off of ebay over the holidays since a lot of you have started funding my hobby money fund. Thanks for buying stuff from me, anyways I got a heavy bolter in the mail today so I could put together a Devastator squad. So I got the painted up I should get almost a piece a day then have a few day off and have a couple more things come. I didn't finish him totally last night I still have some high light work to do on him and a wash, and then I should be getting a plasma cannon in the mail today so I'll have to start on that tonight after I put the finishing touches on the heavy bolter marine. I know your gonna say the gun may need more contrast to stick out. Then I though to myself if I was a devastator I would try to make myself look as small as possible, or less obvious of what I was carrying because I could be the first to go, and that just wouldn't help my battle brothers any now would it. So here is what I have started so far.

Got the heavy bolter devastator done last night, and started working on the rocket guy, but my back started hurting so I stopped. I didn't get anything in the mail for the squad hopefully today or tomorrow I will get more so I can chug away at those. I have the pieces done just waiting on the weapons so I can finish the quad. Here is the heavy bolter finished.

Well another night of painting as left me with another devastator almost complete. I just need to add a wash and highlight and I'll have my lascannon marine done. I got my sergs back pack in the mail today so I will be comverting the one from above with the caution chainsword and plasma pistol. So i just have a rocket, heavy bolter and plasma cannon marine to paint, to finish up the squad.

Well I watched a youtube video on how to do them on the rhinos which was using a painters tape over the black t save those lines. So I cut thin I think like 1/8 inch strips and put them on the sword so I could paint the yellow hazard stripes. Worked great I like the look too so I think I will do it again.

Thats actually a really clever idea! I've been trying to do them freehand and it's been dring me nuts as I really like the look. I'll try it out and see what happens.

As for your project, got anymore vehicles in the pipeline?
