Picked up a box of stugs after many weeks of badgering my local model shop for some.

Photos are a bit pants but you get the idea.
A brief overview of the kit;
If you've worked with the PSC panzer 4 kit you will be familiar with this. Hull comes in two parts (as you can see in the group pic, there are two kinds of upper hull) and the tracks are basically identical to the PZIV. I did for some reason find them a bit easier to put together, the tracks that is, than previous ones, but maybe I'm just getting used to them.
The guns fit quite snugly without glue. I toyed with the idea of making them interchangeable as the Ausf G gun comes in two parts with the curvy mantlet, but the F/8 or StuH barrels are a three piece section with a choice of barrel going into the one mantlet. I figured I would probably lose them eventually so glued the StuK 40s in place.
The only real buggers in this kit are the front plate which is like a very long and flat U shape encompassing the drivers vision slot and the plating to the right of the gun. This is pretty thin and after getting it off the sprue I bent one a bit whilst cleaning it, so be wary of them breaking. The MG34 comes with a choice of gun shield or curved mount, both of which arent bad but the gun itself requires a very sharp set of snippers to remove without bending it quite badly. I decided against any more MG's after the first two for worrying that they might break off and be lost forever in the sands of time. Like I say, it was a bit of a bugger but nothing too bothering.
Overall it's a nice kit, good quality stuff from PSC yet again, highly recommended.

I agree with everything you have put above, but I have replaced the gun barrels with Brass rod, as I have snapped 2 of the 5. Brass rod/tubing is cheap and easy to get hold off, you just drill out the mantlet and glue the tube in. I don't even bother with the muzzle brake.

I've not been particuarly careful with my PSC models so far and I still haven't had any breakages apart from some of the more flimsy infantry LMG's and the hull MG's on the stugs. I can't imagine it being too much of a bother to whack the muzzle brake from the kit onto a brass barrel though. Guess I'll find out tonight if my soviet opponent gets overzealous in his assaults...

I got a pack at Christmas, completely agree, so pleased with them. Airbrushed them dunkelgelb last week, just waiting for wayland games to send my brown and green so i can finish the camouflage. I'll see if i can get some photos up.

I just got my Stugs in today and have been working on them.I did not have any trouble with the tracks, but the Barrels need help.Mine would not go flush with the hulls. So I think I am going to GS sculpt some tarps around them. Also i do care for the Hull mounted mgs.Reminds me of the Zveda ones.looks like i will picking up some from Battlefronts bits section.

I got these a few weeks ago and they went together without a hitch. I chose not to clean the lower portion of the u-shaped front plate as it is burried and hidden. I magnetized the side plates just because I could. I also chopped up the plates like the FOW Stug G platoon box photo.

Excellent stuff. I've just kept mine simple, really. The early stug is the command tank, the rest get skirts. I didn't have any real problems with the barrel sitting right on the hull, but I can see how a little modification would solve the issue.
The hull mg is a bit of a waste, for me; I transport the tanks quite safely but even general use will probably wear out the mg. My stugs hunt tanks mainly anyway so I'll just say they took the mg off to make the profile lower

I purchased some PSC halftracks recently as well- very nice and I'd say better than the Battlefront trax by a long way.

Nice review, I really like the quality of them, I mean, they're not FoW models, but at the same time they look pretty nice, might just pick some up for my army.

So far I've only had experience of two halftracks and a sherman firefly with regards to original FOW models, and all three required some kind of filing/hacking up to fit together properly. PSC models have good detail and generally seem to go together with no messing about. The FOW stuff might be individually detailed but PSC kits come with enough extra gubbinz that it doesn't make any odds at all.

Any one get the Panthers yet?I would like to see some piks and maybe a review of them. Also maybe we could all start a PSc topic for their items to help out new players and some of us vets.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I also bought the 76mm Sherman set.the tracks were a little rough for me but a GS fix worked fine for me.But here is a good point of the set it has the 105mm barrels in it .Which they do not advertise on the box.But again i think i am going to be adding bits from the Battlefront webstore.

I'll be posting some pantherstuff whenever my local starts selling them. Apparently the owner of PSC puts them on sale thru his website, then goes around to shows to get more sales, and then supplies them wholesale to FGLS's.
I really ought to get more halftracks before I buy those panthers. Will I be able to resist? Tune in next time to find out.
