MOAR MINIS FOR THE MINI GOD!

Hello Unkindled,

For those of you who have missed it see Update #21 for an 'Exploration Gameplay Walkthrough' and we had an impromptu AMA this week. It's currently being collated and will be posted on here as an Update. We are looking at running a few more scheduled AMAs this week. Comment below if you'd like us to do so, and what time zone you're in.

With this Stretch Goal the Crimson Set has been unlocked:

Next up you'll be unlocking the Dark Set:

Thank you for all your support during this campaign. You guys are awesome, and there is a good community in the comments section, so keep it up and remember...

Yeah, im out of this project.

Im fine with all the extra stuff, but if every extra boss is going to be an extra L28, its just not worth it to me.

The retail Bosses are 30 GBP each, not 28 GBP. Does that help?

core game
5x KS Bosses
+3x Retail Bosses
plus shipping and/or taxes and/or customs fees.

It's looking like $450 right now, probably well over $500 to complete when it's all done.

So there's still some SLIGHT chance that a 'campaign system' will be developed 'later', like they did with Guild Ball?

Or maybe there will be a 'fan developed' one?

That's too slender a reed for me to lean on!

The hubris in saying that people who want long games with persistence will clearly just "play an RPG" shows a surprising short-sightedness as to what this could have been.

With a little more ambition and respect for what the game could be, it might've justified treating it like a staple product one would continue supporting/playing at a FLGS.

As it is, giant misfire for me. Kingdom Death, at the same price-point is so much more ambitious of a game, and actually succeeded. Without its IP attached this game would just be a footnote.

My guess is a campaign mode becomes a later stretch goal or something.

I mean, they have to know that a lot of people are interested in one.

Why not use it as a goal then? Why include such a ridiculously large amount of armor sets and player classes for just a one off game?

That's my take at least.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Id like to believe in that, but they ve already said its a one off game.

And lets be honest, how hard would it be?

just put bosses in a given order and manage drops?

I imagine since the mooks don't level(do they?), it would eventually just become a steamroller.

Black Bases and Grey Plastic Forever:My quaint little hobby blog.

40k- The Kumunga Swarm (more)
Count Mortimer’s Private Security Force/Excavation Team (building)
Kabal of the Grieving Widow (less)

How about another paid add-on? How much do you think SFG might charge for an official campaign mode?

Although this game seems very RNG-based, but Dark Souls would have harder enemies spawning. I don't like that, currently, Silver Knights (a very tough enemy) seem to be on the "grunts" list with random Hollows.

I'm completely neutral, I'm in this for the minis of all the things I loved to wear or kill. Hey, speaking of which!

Hello Unkindled,

Another day, another stretch goal unlocked. We hope you've been enjoying the support team's interaction throughout today. We certainly have, and we'll speak to you again tomorrow. For now bask in the Dark Set, worn by the Darkwraiths in the lower New Londo Ruins.

Next up we have the Gold Hemmed Black Set, because you wouldn't want to be caught dead (and you would be, let's face it) in the regular Black Set.

Thank you once again for all your support. Remember to spread the word about Dark Souls™ - The Board Game so we can boost through the Stretch Goals.

Praise the Sun \[T]/

Almost done with all the current stretch goals, only the Set of Favor and the Guardian's are missing after the Gold-Hemmed Black Set so, maybe, just maybe, Solaire is almost here. (Yes, I'm still hoping for it)

Yeah, I didn't express myself quite right. When I said define an order or levels of difficulty for bosses, I thought on the expansions unlocked - each boss would have a rating, right? Like 1-5 skulls? And each boss expansion would come with his "minions" and those would be tuned for that particular level of difficulty.

They mentioned in the gameplay update that you can adjust the difficulty of your opponents, so campaign play shouldn't be too difficult.

That being said, I don't think anyone's wanting this project to be delayed much longer than it already will be. My impression is that SFG *wants* to have a campaign, but it would have to wait for a future expansion or whatnot.

They are probably among the mooks between the mid boss and the main boss, not before that. That would fit their role as it is in the game, there are a ton of them before O&S.

Most definitely pledging on this one. I saw the black iron set and immediately threw money at the screen... Though I wish I could do the retailer pledge, the model for Manus looks amazing

Well they confirmed NG+ will be a thing and it will be as close to the video game as they can make it. So while it's not a campaign mode, there will be some sort of way to continue your character.

New Game Plus. In the video game world, it essentially means that once you have completed the game, you can start over but keep your existing character, complete with skills, equipment, etc. Enemies receive a boost to hit points and damage dealt to compensate, and certain items and events in the game are only available when playing through a second (or third, or fourth...) time.

I don't think theres anything stopping us from going Bonfire - miniboss - boss - bonfire - mini boss - boss

over and over again until you have all the armor/treasure in the game and have gone through your entire collection of bosses

in between games you could just put your characters/cards into ziplock bags and start the next time on a new bonfire and hand everyone back their ziplocked characters

Automatically Appended Next Post:
you could even just write down your treasure on a piece of paper and put the cards back in the deck so you never run out of treasure/armor to get

6 sets of havel? no problem!

it wouldnt work, its a matter os scalation.

"grunts" need to be a challenge.

If there isint some kind of system, or guideline, you´d just steamroll all the enemies untill you got to the boss.

Depends on how hard the fights are and how good the treasure can progress. You might just be getting more choices for when you fight and not really increasing in power that much. It should make the fights a little easier but dont think it would become a steamroll per se.

Another night, another unlock, that's what I like to see! If this keeps up, next weekend we'll have new stretch goals \o/

Hello Unkindled,

We've nearly completed the Armour Set Expansion. Just two more to unlock and then, well, whatever could be next...

...before you find out though you've got the Guardian Set to unlock. The Guardian Set became available during the Artorias of the Abyss DLC.

We have an AMA with Mat Hart tonight at 01:00BST so make sure you're around in the comment section for that. Use it to ask any questions you may have. Keep the momentum up for the campaign and share on Facebook, Twitter, mention us on Reddit (we'll be on there for an AMA in the future as well).

Praise the Sun \[T]/

...if only I could be so grossly incandescent.

Oh man, they are quoting Solaire even more now. Please, oh please, let he show up soon

They had a scheduled AMA with Mat Hart last night. Lots of vague answers, but there were a couple of interesting items in there:

- Stretch goals planned up to 4 million pounds, and they'll add more if they hit that mark (which, at the current rate of completion, I kinda doubt, but you never know).

- No more retailer exclusives planned

- Gameplay video will *probably* be out next week, pending approval

- And one really interesting tidbit....Hart was asked about unfinished stretch goal expansions, such as if the Kickstarter were to end without all of the armor sets in the expansion box being unlocked, and replied with "I think the project is supported well enough for SFG to finish any potential unfinished stretch goals!" So that's pretty cool, and eliminates one of the concerns I had.

AMA posted in spoiler for length:

Spoiler:

And the 1800k stretch goal is another new mini-boss!
