I finalized a 1500 point Tau list over Christmas since I got new tanks. So, here it is. Feel free to leave critiques.

Shas'el "Strongspear" (w/ 2 Bodyguards)
TL Missile Pod/AFB, HW Target Lock
Bodyguards
TL Missile Pod/Flamer
193

Elite:

3x Crisis "Deathrain"
TL Missile Pod/Blacksun Filter
138

3x Crisis "Bladestorm"
Plasma Rifle/Burst Cannon, Multitracker
174

Plasma Rifle/Fusion Blaster, Multitracker
186

Troop:

6x Firewarriors w/ Devilfish
Pulse Rifle
Devilfish w/ Disruption Pod
145

6x Firewarriors w/ Shas'ui
Pulse Carbine
Shas'ui w/ Markerlight
80

Fast Attack:

6x Pathfinders w/ Devilfish
Pulse Carbine
Devilfish w/ Disruption Pod and Marker Beacon
157

Heavy Support:

Hammerhead
Railgun/Burst Cannon, Multitracker, Disruption Pod
165

Hammerhead
Railgun/Burst Cannon, Multitracker, Disruption Pod
165

Total: 1503

I play with friends, so the three point overshoot is generally overlooked. Tactics-wise, I usually hold the Helios in reserve and deep strike them in wherever I see 2+ saves (Marker Beacon on Pathfinder's Fish helps). I generally put my Centurion Shas'el Keenspear with the Bladestorms for maximum dakka, and depending on the opponent, hide my foot-slogging Firewarriors in the Pathfinder's Fish.

Aside from that, it's kite, shoot, kite, shoot. Swarms hate my 3 large blasts per turn, and my 6 TL Missile Pods do work against transports.

You'll note that I don't "back-load" (to borrow the term from Mech Tau Tactica) many points for defense, but rather just try to get suits and guns in my list. The best defense is a good offense, in my experience.

I played 2 games the night before posting this against Orks and Dark Eldar, winning both Annihilation matches 9-5 and 6-3, respectively. At this point though, the list is untested vs. MEQ.

Again, leave me your feedback.

No one has any feedback?

Or maybe my list is just too brilliant to be critiqued...

Muahahaha.

The general wisdom has FWs using Pulse Rifles over Carbines, but then again you do have the PF support for it and Assault 1 vs. Rapid Fire has its merits.

Your DE game; didja go first? The ork game; did he have any mobility?

The Ork game, my opponent had 2 Trukks and a Battlewagon, but I went first and wrecked the Battlewagon with a railgun and a Trukk with Deathrains. Next turn I put two subs from the Railheads right on his bikers and he rolled terrible saves.

The Dark Eldar game, I actually went second. I was surprised by how fast those little drow are. Still though, Flickerfields are no use against Missile Pods and Railguns when they're in your face, and so I de-meched him and kited pretty well. This game was a lot closer, but he couldn't even out the kill points on his last turn, which saved my butt.

Changed Shas'el "Strongspear" to have a HW Target Lock instead of Multitracker. Makes more sense if he can split fire if he needs to.
