I'm back playing 40k after a few years away (don't ask how many, I don't like to admit to being that old.)
I've had a few friendly games of 5th Ed with my girlfriend (CSM vs Dark angels) and had fun, on Thursday I went down to the local games workshop for a game, and got murdered, twice. Once by Tyranids, once by Grey Knights. Having done a bit of research apparently neither DA or CSM are considered competitive with all the shiny new codexes. That said I've always liked Nurgle, and I'm happy as long as I have a good game. I don't insist on winning every time. I do like to put up a bit of a fight though, so I'd like to get some feedback.

I have seen CSM Win tournaments timr and time again, but it's all about finness and using the right units. Terminators are awesome, but death star units are out of fashion. It is also a bad idea in general to field a unit without a Rino.

Just so you can see what a competitive list is here is one that one a 40 player tournament near me.

I don't have a codex infront of me, but if memory serves that is a solid highly competitive 2000 point list. Obliterators own so use them. And I don't know how I feel about Land Raiders, but with IG Melta spam, DE Lance Spam, and all the other crazy stuff out there thses days, I don't see them accomplishing much.

Both lash and warp time just got nerfed with the new FAQs out today, so you might want to consider taking a lord instead of the DP/DPs.

Just read the FAQ and that is exactly how he used Lash, that is all just common sence. Rolling to hit isn't horrible at all you still get to move an enemy unit.

Hmm, I'll most likely drop warptime, having to reroll all the dice seems a bit slowed.

I had considered having 4 terminators and a terminator lord, but I really like the DP model!

Also, I thought Demon Prince's came with wings? If not my buddies list has DP's with wings.

The terminators were for a nasty assault out of the land raider. If I was dropping the lightning claws I'd drop the raider too I guess.

Is there something wrong with vindicators? They look great to me but none of the lists I've looked at seem to include them.

Most armies have a mass of S 8 or S 9 shots now that will rip them to shreds quick. I love them too, but I never really had a lot of luck with them.

Oblits live longer, have more shooting options, and don't scatter if you DS them within 6" of your marines. And that is amazing for their cost. I would never field CSM without them, but then again it's all about personal prefference.

With all the extra Plague Marines and Champions do you think you could fit in another squad and 2 more Melta? 4 Rinos are better then 3 and 2 more Melta could make a huge difference. And make sure your Prince gets a power. A Psycker with no power is a waist of points. Or atleast thats How I feel about it. But then again playtesting and finding what works in your club is the best way to go.

I cant really get another Plague marine squad without dropping either the terminators or the defiler and one of the oblits. Tempting but I don't think its worth it, they would probably be the next choice if I went up to 1750/2000 points.
