So I have a idea for this tank called leman Russ Vindacator (still think about name)

Rules: (I Don't know a name for this rule yet)
becuase the Leman Russ Vindacator has large amounts of armor, It need to roll a D6 for movement and a roll of a 1 is immobilise.
The tank may not take side sponsons.

Ammo - At the start of your shooting turn you can choose to have The Leman Russ Vindactor shoot AP or Heat rounds.
AP Round is Str 9 ap 2 roll 2d6 on armor penetration.
HEAT round is Str 8 ap 3 large blast.

so its realy either a battle cannon shot or vanquisher shot.

Get rid of the immob on 1. Instead, make it unable to move past combat speed. Give it a 36" S10 AP1 Heavy 1 ordnance large blast that rolls 2d6 to penetrate and 250-275 points is sorta justified - it's super overkill but will also be the main target for any kind of shooting

I personally don't see a point in the tank really. You'd be better off just giving the vanquisher the option to fire battle cannon shells at +x pts (maybe 10-20 ballpark).

Rear AV12 isn't needed and really hurts some armies that rely on close combat to crack tanks (namely Orkz).

Then again, I think the most sensible thing to do for balance purposes is allow the vanquisher to take a high explosive shell, but make it S8 AP3 small blast, for 10pts. Same cost as a demolisher, and gives you the option to go anti-tank or anti-meq in a pinch while not making the other variants obsolete or redundant.

Id run vanquishers if this was true.

I think LRBts should be able to choose the type of ammo they shoot, eg HE AT and incendiary if modern tanks can, why can't ones 40000 years later do the same or better?

Am I the only one who thinks the standard LRBT is totally cool right now? I use it and have no complaints, there are plenty of choices and it is completely worth its points.
I think for the different shells it would be better to simply have the Vanquisher be able to fire normal shots as well, which would make it really good.
The standard LRBT really needs no changes.
