These dont look too bad at all! Have you done a wash of badaab black? If not Id suggest done one on all of the metallic parts. It will introduce a lot of depth!

Why does age have any bearing on painting ability? I know 12 year olds who could give master painters a run for their money and I know 45+ year olds who can't paint to save themselves.

Why suggest to what you assume is a newer painter a very advanced technique? (NMM)

Norn King, I'm definately liking the metallics and the blue, they seem much grittier than normal and I think that it adds a great deal of depth to your models.

Perhaps try and check out a few tutorials on skin tones, they are quite hard but once you get the hang of it it increases the look of most leaders and segeants twofold.
