There are 7 undefeated at the moment going into the last 2 games tomorrow.
They are:
2x Space Wolves
3x Grey Knights
1x Orks
1x Imperial Guard
One of these is not like the others.

I know the guy. Runs battlewagon orks and is quite good with them. Kff in one, gazzy with burnas in another, nobz in the third. 2 units of 5-man deffguns and a truck with more boys, plus one squad of gretchin in reserve to cap objectives. The remaining points go into one of several different units, sometimes coptas, sometimes wartraks.

Orks are far better than a lot of folks credit. The build you've described is the most-seen good one.

I took Best Overall with the list you can find here:
http://hulksmash-homeplace.blogspot.com/2012/02/dark-star-list.html
Apparently the top 3 at the event were all within 2 points of each other with me eeking out a 4-1 player by a single point since his army was much prettier than mine
Overall a great event.

The undefeated ork player was actually my first round opponent. I started off crazy lucky and then my things fell apart after that.
Rolling lots of 1s and inexperience with a new lists are things you can usually overcome by themselves but together they are a deathblow.
I'll have some reports up on our site as I am sure Hulk and others will as well on their own sites.

I was the Ork Player. Good venue, enjoyed it!
Faced off against Hulk for game 4. Damn close game. Went to turn 7.
He had 6 marines left on the table (1 squad of 1, 1 squad of 2, and 1 squad of 3).
I had a single Killa Kan, a full grot squad, and an unhurt Battlewagon.
Hilarious game.
Highlights:
1 Purifier wiped out two boy squads by himself. (24 guys!)
Burnas killing about 2/3rds of the army with flames, flames everywhere. They probably dealt somewhere around 150 wounds total over the course of the game (before armor saves).

I would like to see Hulk's batreps.
I take it he did not face Mech IG. It seems that highly meched lists would give him a lot of troubles, but from the armies that went undefeated on day #1 maybe the meta does not have that much mech.

There were actually quite a few Imp Guard Players. I myself ran against IG round two (with two friggen' manticores, no less!) The most popular armies was something like Grey Knights, Blood Angels, Space Wolves, Imperial Guard, Dark Eldar, and other Xenos armies (in descending order).
Hulk, as I recall, ran against 3 of the 5 total Ork Players, myself included! His army had the best shiney bits for lootin', apparently. And I think his final opponent was IG?

There were 5 guard armies, which I was one of them. I ended up going 3-2 ( SW-win, SW-loss, Eldar-win, Orks-loss, IG-win) with this out flanking list.
HQ- CCS + Medic + Astropath + Plasmagun x 3 + Chimera ( HF hull)= 210 210
T1-Vets Shotguns + Melta x 3 + Demolitions 340
T2-Vets Shotguns + Melta x 3 + Demolitions 470
T3-Penal Legion 550
T4-Penal Legion 630
T5-Vets Shotguns + Melta x 3 + Demolitions + Harker + Chimera( HF hull) 870
T6- PCS + Al'Rahem + Vox + Flammer x 3 + Chimera( HF hull) 1045
1st Platoon+ Commissar+ Power Sword x 2 + AC + GrenadeLaunch
+Melta Bomb 1170
2nd Squad + Power Sword + Vox + AC + GrenadeLaunch
+Krak Grenades 1260
HWT- + LC x 2 + ML 1360
F1-Vendetta 1490
F2-Vendetta 1620
E1-Marbo 1685
H1-LMRuss Demolisher + HF 1850
I was 13/56. Not bad for a "FUN" list
Dark Star was a great tourney. Player packet was perfect. Boards/Terrain were unbelievable, Staff was great, tons of prizes and rewards. I'll be back for next year . See all those that make Waaagh Fest in June and the at the State Fair grounds in May (not sure what the name is).

I played 1 SM, 3 Orks, and 1 BA. One was Biker Orks (and I felt bad on that one), one was AV10 Spam Orks (14-15 Hulls), and Battlewagon spam. The SM was light mech with his only transport being an LR and the BA was 2 LR's with jumpers.
So I didn't face 7-9 AV11-12 vehicles once but I'm pretty sure I would have faired fine. Especially with the new deepstrike clarification for the FAQ's. But I'd be lying if I didn't say that I was worried about IG that brings along standard russes and Colossi at 1850 since I don't have teleporters on the big guys at that point value.
Also the BW Ork guy (Fxeni) was best in codex general and so was my SM opponent. The BA player would have been if he'd won our game.
Overall it was a great tournament. I'll be getting batreps up over the next week since I'm on the road all day in a bit

Your army seems like it is made for anti-horde. You have a ton of strength 5 shooting at 24", so 3 ork players were somewhat fortunate. I think it will also do well against rhino/razerback spam because even from the front you can glance on a 6 with stormbolters.
If you face masses AV12 that sets up in a corner and does not let you get side shots is where you can be in trouble.
I really like your list though. The real strength of your army is combat squads. You have 5 10-man squads in KP missions, and then you can have 10 (10!) scoring units in objective missions. That flexibility nullifies the inherent weakness of MSU armies in KP missions.

@-666-
Not really. None of my guys are fast so I can't blanket the board. Though it does reduce where you might feel comfortable coming down. And I did manage to fail it twice against an SM player and completely forgot about it against the BA player...oops. First games playing this list
@MVB
Thanks
@Blackmoor
I think there are to many random factors that would have to go the way of the IG player to nullify my shooting strength. As for the list being super strong against hordes it is but I really built it to have enough shots to be able to whittle down any type of marine army which was my main focus. The DK's really take care of most horde issues on their own and allow me to focus my st5 & psycannons on vehicles. We'll see what happens when I hit an IG army though.
