Since there's no models available for Night Scythes, and I don't like the eldar things as proxies, I decided to scratch-build one. So I just looked around for whatever is round and plastic. Not surprisingly, found some CDs. One of them is "warhammer mark of chaos" by the way, at last I found some good use for it. Also a plastic soap box looked somehow interesting.

Here's what I have so far. What I am not sure about, is how to make the "spine" thing. I don't have any plastic kits with them, and ordering bits will take forever, so that's not an option. What do you guys think?

Looks like a promising start. What did you use to cut apart the CDs?

Thank you! I tried jeweller's saw and a boxcutter knife, the knife worked better for me.

Here's an update:

As you can see, I also found a couple of pens. They don't look really necrony, but I don't want to get into any serious modelling, just to have an easily recognizable miniature.

What if you replaced the pen tips with a necron weapon bit of somekind?

I do have some gauss muzzles from destroyer cannons. For some reason I disliked them for this project, but I guess they worth a try.

Completed with some greenstuff. Tried couple ways to make the "spine" thing, did not found an easy solution, so just greenstuffed it too.

And painted.

Still need to figure out a way to make the base.

I definitely like the look and the paint job. It 'fits' really well. Could you post a picture with a model of it for a sense of scale?

Here's the pictures for scale:

To summarize, I got what I wanted from this project (a tabletop-ready miniature which looks better than cardboard ones), plus it is really dirt-cheap. I don't like the pen guns so much, expected them to turn out less like painted pens. But whatever, I am not really into building models, this works for me.
