The reason for the revolution would be that since the region in question is very far away from the Imperium, and rather than try to assemble a massive force of IG and SPESS MAHREENS, they decide to help an existing faction that supports joining the Imperium, and of course, after joining they get informed of all the changes they need to make and what they need to do.

The Imperium still is involved, because they need to support the faction. However, since they view it as an effort-saver, they really only offer major support at the last minute.

As a discussion grows in length, the probability of a comparison to Matt Ward or Gray Knights approaches one.

...urrrr... I dunno

I like the idea that the Imperium offers only moral support and supplies at first, then swoops in with five or so full regiments of IG to make sure that the planet "willingly" joins it and claim some credit for helping.
It's a great idea!

Yeah. I was thinking about having the Imperium largely stay out for a long time, and then send in a company of Ultramarines and IG when the revolution got to a point where it was almost suppressed.

Here's an article about how the Rotstein Sektor gained independence, assuming I don't make changes based on this poll.
