Hi all, as a child I did a lot of modelling and painted roleplaying figures and such, then i stopped and haven't done it for some 20 years.
But recently as some friends of mine and I began playing Warhammer Deathwatch roleplaying game, i wanted to make a figure for it.
So in the beginning of january this year, I bought some figures, and began painting them. I really enjoy it, but i want to hear if someone have tips for me to make my figures better...
I have added some pictures of some of my figures.

Im not a fan of the Libby but otherwise they are a very very solid start.
The templar needs touching up, especially on the bolter.
The orks trousers need a babab black watch followed by a couple of highlights to give them some definition.
My advice is to keep practising!!! your actually pretty good.

Everything looks quite good. The libbys armor for some reason does not have a lot of definition. Give this a watch. It will teach you how to do very good armor. http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/345164.page I would work on the face of the libby a bit more though. This is what I do. Paint the face a flesh color in multiple thin coats. Let dry. Then wash in devlen mud and leave in details. If you intend to paint in eyes dont let it cover the eye sockets. After the wash... highlight with the same thinned flesh color on all the raise parts of the face, like the lips and upper forehead and cheek bones.

"Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, he sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel?" |

Very good start, its good that you have come to painting from deathwatch because the artwork in those books for marines is amazing and a great thing to take inspiration from.

thanks for the kind words all, I will check out those videos.
The pictures in the deathwatch books are great and very inspirational, but the rules for the game arent too good...
I have earlier tried thinning my paints, but i got some very uneven results, where some parts were properly thinned, but not all, so i ended up with a result i didnt like.
