Hey Dakka.

So, not sure what exactly inspired me to do this really.
Was initially setting out to make a couple of Death Cult Assassins from my spare Dark Eldar Reaver Jetbike pilots but after replacing the Dark Eldar head with the skull it immediately started screaming "CALLIDUS!".
After reading the rules for this crazy biznich, I can't wait to finish it ^^

Sorry for the off-ish pictures. My light bulb has blown and I'm still getting used to using my home-made light-box XD

EDIT: Just a quick breakdown:

Eldar Reaver pilots body, legs, arms and ponytail.
Empire Generals Cherubim skull.
FineCost Jump-Pack Chaplains head (posed on).
The Neural Shredder is a Space Marine Bolt Pistol with ammo clip and barrel cut off, replaced with a Dark Eldar weapon barrel (I dunno a thing about DE). Added a scope and a sniper rifle arm rest.
The C'Tan Phase Sword is just a Nemesis Force Sword with a scope attached, added to the wrist of the De arm, replacing the heand. Thought it'd be cool to have the Phase Sword as much a part of the Assassin as possible

Not sure about the scope on the sword, not sure that it serves a purpose.
Also would consider filing more of the armor detail smooth (thinking the arm) to get a more stealth suit look/feel. Other then that cool, I like your take on the Shredder and may have to steal that for my own Callidus.

Appreciate the feedback!

The scope attached to the sword serves a multitude of fluffy purpose ^^
I remember reading somewhere that Assassins usually have some kind of recording device on their person as proof of their mission being completed, and what better place to put a kill-cam then right in the carnage?
The picture doesn't do it must justice. Need to figure out the best way to take pictures but the armour is pretty smooth as-is. I'm keeping the studs and other DE designs as not to look too uniform as I'd imagine a Callidus Assassin to have a lot more distinction regarding uniform as opposed to their counterparts.

Unless the assasin only thrusts with the sword, if not the camera would be recording the sky the rest of the time :'P
people usually mount camera on the helmet, it sees what the wearer sees

This is true ^-^

I guess I just really like the vision in my head of a slow-mo rerun from the Phase Blades perspective, as it dispatches a Chaos Warlord with extreme prejudice Again, it's the idea that the Assassin is connected with her blade, seeing all it sees.

You were envisioning the first person recording scene like Hit Girl's rescue scene from Kick Ass? :3

Looking good! I agree with the comments about making her sleeker and losing the scope tho. If she had a camera on her it would be so small you wouldn't see it.

Hmm, I'm revising the scope idea now... Maybe you guys are right. I'll have a tinker tomorrow and see what I can do :3

Knights-Abhorrent, something to consider:

Since you're using a "helmet" effectively for the head, perhaps have the camera mounted there?
The middle part of the sword-scope looks like, with the ends cut off, it would fit the bill perfectly.

Big cookie for you!
I'mma shave off the lens of the scope and implant it into one of the Assassins eye-sockets!

Thanks! ^_^

I sure will!
The lens is too big for the job, but I'm sure a rummage through my bits box will yield results.
Can't wait to start painting this one ^.^

Try mounting it on the side of the head.

Helmet cams are very quickly becoming adopted by police agencies here in the US, and even some military units.

Something cool would be.

Drill out one eye socket, have some lense and wires comming out of it.
his one eye would be the camera.

Advantage:

Since its neuro linked , it's focus and zoom range will be identical to his real eye.
That means his camera will never be out of focus.
The Artificial lense can boost his vision distance as well as give him different vision modes.

Or just replace the skull with a servo-skull!

Here goes nothing...

>_<

Unfortunately, like many of my conversions that start off so well, this one is a write-off.

When replacing the head, the legs separated from the helmet on the base. Then the right leg came off when placing the servo-skull. Unable to reposition the model to its original vantage point I took a hobby knife to the right leg in an effort to repose the model with one foot on the based helmet.
However, the posing of the legs won't have it.

After 40 minutes of frustration, the model met a grizzly end as it met the brunt of my anger ¬_¬

Keep an eye out of Callidus Assassin Conversion Redeux, coming soon >.>
