Greetings Dakka folks. I've been lurking and drooling over many members fine works for months now and I thought it was time to say hello.
However, it didn't seem fair to spend months drooling over every one else's fine works without contributing something myself. So I present to you my very first ever completed mini ever!
All thoughts are welcome.

Disclaimer: I wanted to a good job and be able at least paint my first army to an acceptable table top standard so I read many tutorials online and had several practice marines before I convinced myself I was ready to start painting my Grey Knights. And yes, I know I missed the mold lines. I was so excited to start painting a made a rookie error and didn't clean the models. Luckily mold lines on Grey Knights aren't as terrible as they are on vanilla marines. Oh and I haven't dared to try the power weapon as yet.

Looking forward to seeing this one in person, mate. He looks great!

I'll have to base some of my 'Nids in a winter theme now, for the eventual diorama!

Looks fine.

Don't worry about the mold lines, I forget them all the time.

If it really irks you you can try scrapeing them off (CAREFULLY!) with a hobby knife and then doing a bit of touch up painting after.

SBG: Why hello there old friend. Fancy meeting you here. That is amazing idea, we must do a diorama!

Ma55ter_fett: Yes I was thinking of that but thankfully the GK models mold lines really only show under the arms and I'm just not so sure I want to risk it. Perhaps if more people were going to see them but its pretty much just SBG and a couple other friends that play together. (Our local gaming shop is scary sometimes)

Scary all the time.

The picture, especially the base, is good enough to almost make me think you're trolling. Very clean for a first many, and I'd just add a wash and a couple of highlights for some depth. Nice

Worship me.

Super thanks Unbearable new buddy! Like I said, I was able to practice on several vanilla marines before I got the Grey Knights and before that SBG and I worked on some terrain together.
The base was actually the quickest easiest part! Black base coat, dry brush grey, add white glue and baking soda for snow. Super fast super simple and looks good. Though if you ever use the glue soda snow make sure you mix the two then apply with a stick otherwise the baking soda tends to be so thin it doesn't look right. I tend to be very.. obsessive when it comes to things I'm interested in so I can't bear to do something half assed. If something bugs me chances are it'll nag at me enough to make me redo it. Thankfully that is not happening with the mold lines.... yet..

Looking good!

Maybe get a wash on that tabard and highlight back up with your base red (Red Gore?).

Base looks fantabulous.

Velze, you've now encouraged me to finish my Zoanthropes. We really should plan a diorama - it's an excuse for terrain generation also!

Yes! We should. We could even try adding some explosions with OSL!
