Is this red armor and highlights good for blood angels? I bet the chest eagle and bolter and eye lenses will off set it to a degree. Just want to make sure it is Blood Angel as I really dont like the way GW does them.

Not sure what you mean mate, they look almost exactly as they do in my "How to Paint Space marines" book

Oh well thats a good thing then! I was just wondering if it is ok for Blood Angels and not dumb looking as I really dont like doing extreme Highlighting as it is not natural looking.

It just needs some highlights on the edges of the armour and I think it's good to go mate

Yeh the extreme highlighting is a bit of a thing.

I kinda like it as it makes such small models look much more striking on the table, but it doesn't really fit with the "realism" thing.

A bit like weathering, looks good in the photos but maybe not so on the tabletop. I'd debate whether weathering is actually realistic, but I digress.

So long as you're happy mate is all that matters. Be sure to give us another look when you're done

Weathering? Not sure if you mean my Marine in the pic or not. I will do a bit more to it but I kind of like to do sun glare on the armor. If you take a look at the top of the shoulder pads you will see that it gets lighter towards the top.

Nope. Its Blood red watered down first then badab black as the base coat. Then I use a 50/50 of scab red and blood red and paint over everything but leaving the wash in the details.

So here he is mostly finished.... thats all I am going to do at the moment as I have an army to do of them and I am going to paint them all like this and then go back over them to make them better.
