Hi there, thanks for looking at my log. It's been a long while since I've done anything hobby related. Life took over, and it involved a lot of guitar playing. Well, here I am, trying to start anew. I bought a box of LOTR Easterlings, and for the time being, my projects will (hopefully) be LOTR related.
Here are the pictures.
Any C&C will be greatly appreciated.
The last picture isn't hobby related, but It just happened in my garden. I just have to show this.

Thanks General!
Time for another update. Today's update will show my old Easterling army, waiting to be repainted. (Right after I finish my latest 20 Easterlings) Then there is also a Mordor Troll which I finished. And finally some new Easterlings. Enjoy. C&C welcome.

Welcome back scrazza, not a huge lord of the rings fan, well love the films just not the books or game but this all looks good. I like the way you have done the gold, really makes it pop, worth the effort for sure. I am assuming that there will be other non lord of the rings stuff in the future? EDIT Thought the gold guys were the next stage. Well they look good lol.

I love this army. I haven't looked into LOTR armies as intently as I should!
Insofar as C&C goes, I would start by saying that the color scheme is awesome. The red and gold look awesome together. My question to you is what washes are you using? I've begun to mix my own from paints rather than presets (like Ogryn Flesh over red) as the washes come back with a very shiny look to them that you can see on some of these models.
You can buy a can of flat matte from walmart for 3-4 bucks that will take the gleam off and give the models a natural look on cloth. The shields you can touch up with the ardcoat from GW.
I'd be interesting in seeing some highlights too! As a whole? Great work, bud! Definitely subbing

Hey scrazza good to see your work again , never seen a LOTR blog , and i don't think I have ever seen the easterlings either , so thanks for that mate , nice looking minis , your new colour scheme is much like your last , just more understated, are you changing the basings also ? the troll dio is cool mate .

Thanks guys
@Perkustin: Yeah there will be other stuff in here, but I'll focus on LOTR now. The 'golden' guys were the old ones. I don't like the look of them anymore so I'm going to repaint them. The color scheme will remain the same, the only difference is that I won't be using metalics anymore. I'll be doing NMM from now on.
@Klinesmoker: The only washes I use on the NMM easterlings is Baal Red for their clothing. The golden armour is just blended using a foundation yellow (don't know what it's called) dark brown and white. I just blend the colors until it looks alright.
@ Neil: I'll be changing the basings also, The sand is too big. I'll be using sand from the beach from now on. What do you mean by understated? Is that good or bad? haha
Thanks for the troll dio feedback
Question: What looks better, my old or new easterlings? More exactly: what about the gold? is the NMM good or bad?

Awwwwwwwwww yeah! i found you!
A nice start man and a wise choice with Gothmog.
Love the converted banner too.
For the base, pva fine sand onto it before spray undercoat then you can layer a medium brown onto it and then drybrush say bleached bone or the like over the top. That's what I do

Sorry, but life has taken over again Holidays started a few days ago, and I spent lots of time in Antwerp City hanging out with friends and going out. It doesn't leave much room for the hobby I'm afraid. But no fear, updates will come eventually.
On a side note, I really want to host a necromunda campaign with a Fallout theme. Looks like fun to me. What do you think? It also gives me some fun modeling opportunities.

Hi there. Update time. I decided to build a Tau army. So I dug up my old tau models, which are all unpainted Now that's a good thing. I have two test models for my Tau. I Think I'm going with the T'au paint scheme. I also started painting another necromunda model. I know they aren't that well painted but... C&C would be welcome.

No Problem
I made some progress on some Tau Pathfinders. I only need to do basing, highlights, and I need to assemble the two Rail-Rifle guys and paint their devilfish. C&C would be appreciated. Automatically Appended Next Post: Sorry, my mistake, the company is called black cat bases ltd.
