So I started painting late last year. Been having fun with it and thought I'd post some of the results.

The tau warriors and stealth drones look actually pretty decent, very anime- like. I haven't seen a paint scheme like that before. I think they look nice, good for the table. The glow effect on the stealthsuits i like quite a bit actually.
The kroot seem to be lacking a bit with shading it seems. You did well by performing a clean paintjob, but with just a simple wash or drybrush you can help make them look all the better.
It is not that bad work at all, keep it up.

I second the comment about looking very anime (thats a good thing in my book). I like the stealth suits, especially the red/black & silver/black.

Thanks. I could never figure out a good paint scheme for Stealth suits until I saw one that looked somewhat Tron-ish (It's a word, look it up. Ok it's not.) So I decided to do 2 of each color red, white, and blue.
Thanks for the comments and advice.

Nice colouring, solid paint job. I agree with the suggestion for a wash - I think a cool colour wash (blue or potentially even purple - make sure you test it on a test model first!) on that metal paint would really make them pop.

As was said before, a little more detail (either in a wash or some highlights) could be added. Regardless, your brushwork and actual painting is very well done. I think from here you have the potential, with adding some detail with your already decent skill, to improve quite rapidly.

Let me know how you like this compared to the first post.

I got some a bag of what I think is called "frosted" glass from a hobby store. I think Michaels.
It comes in a small mesh bag for about $3, and it's basically just glass with a slight white tint along some of the sides.
I took PVA glue and spread a very light layer on with my finger then dusted Baking Soda right over it.

I'm kind of undecided about putting a wash on these guys - your painting is clean and bright, which suits the ghastly happiness of the Tau. While painting wise it would probably look better with a wash, it would dull them down a bit... Your choice!

It's really easy, but can be a bit messy.
Just make sure you dust off or blow any excess baking soda off before you move them.
Also the baking soda will yellow after a while. Maybe a year. Some people add a bit of white paint to prevent that.
I just rinse off the baking soda with water and put a new coat on when I touch them up.

If you are newish and this is the work you do. You have me beat out by four years of trying to paint. They look good. I am kinda confused on why you have some stealth suites painted red instead of blue. And its probably just me, but the silver looks a little on the heavy side on some models. Other than that, Looks great. Can't wait to see what they look like based.

I'm going over a lot of my models and stripping and repainting them. I had a bit of trouble with the primer and paint being a bit too thick, but I've worked through that.
The reason for the stealth suits is that I wanted to do a Tron look for them. So I have the two units, one red the other blue, being led by the white suits. I may have to go over them again to get more of a glow look to it.
