Hi all, Blood Moon Minis has been overhauling and getting ready for some future releases in resin. Here are some preview pics just to give you folks an idea of what we will be offering. First up are the Black Forge Destroyers, they are a multi-part kit cast in resin. There are a pair of close combat auger drill arms that I will be wrapping up and adding to the kit so 4 can be made.
Here are the parts (there is also an upgrade sprew with machine guns, bombs and cables)

Here are two scale shots, I shouldn't have used such an old plague marine model.

Here are some side hatch pleasure cult doors, there is a top hatch as well but wasn't available at the time.

Still work in progress among other things

Well I hope you guys like what you see and I always appreciate C&C and suggestions.

I am also looking into terrain and possibly a painting service in the future but for right now I am busy just trying to get things sorted out and the site up.

Again site will and price will be up soon!

Take care,

-Marcello

Very Steam-punky! also organic guy looks good, Interesting vehicle doors.

I see that the ordering of right parts can result in Oblits or termies in general.

I love the doors and the green guy your working on. Theres a bit too many watch gears and what not,(looks like pen parts) with the rest of the stuff. The gear teeth are dead give aways, and need more spacing between them. There molds look pretty clean though

Thanks, the greens are still very rough, I have some other projects in the works as well but the closest to completion are the Destroyers. The gears are actually not watch gears, they were styrene discs cut with a jig and I recast several from the different sizes to use on the models. but I will take that as a compliment... The gear theme I know isn't for everyone, if these do ok I may do other variations of the Black Forge troops.

I wish I had a shot of the larger top hatch door but I will have some up soon enough I am going to try some other variations as well for door themes.

Thanks for the feedback! Any suggestions are welcome and appreciated!

very clean work i have to say firstly...what i am not overly sold on are the grears that seem to be stuck at random on the chests...looks to me like someone tossed then at these bodies and they got stuck ...like that fella from goldfinger did with his bowler hat...if you understand me here^^

what i do like are the legs...also i see you are a man of details...those cables and weaponarms , some of them look very good... not sure about the (probably) pasma arm... the coils (?) look a bit too thick for my taste...

the green fella has lots of potential... same goes for those tasty looking hatches... i think the more mature designs are really up your alley... something you should definatly explore further!

i wish you all the luck for your enterprise here!

cheers, vik

Hey, guys, I have a great idea

What if

What if we took apart a tape deck

And glued the bits on some Terminators

Trust me it'll be awesome

I kid, I kid. They look okay, but that's how I picture that idea coming up. Love the Daemonette Rhino doors.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I will have painted pics up in a couple hours.

About the gears, I know they are not for everybody, but I think when you see them painted you may like them more. I was going for a ratcheting torso feel if that makes sense. At any rate they are super easy tp remove for those who dislike them if that helps.

Yea more hatches are in the works. Infantry parts as well.

I think most of the gears need to be about half as thick as they are at the moment, other than that things look ok.

I don't like the gears on the arms though, they seem...tacked on.

and the detail on the legs is too thick for me.

Aside from that I actually quite like them. Price will be the deciding factor - if they're cheap enough I wouldn't mind having some around to convert.

the daemon doors look great, not sold on the other model yet, but it's coming along nicely

I kinda did the gear theme, great oblit count as models. These seem a tad rough/unfinished/plainish, but I'm sure once you slap some more bitz from the old bitzbox they'd fill out nicely.

Daemonette doors are looking nice, can't wait to see the finished product. and the green legs at the bottom are really nice.

Good job Red Corsair.

People are gonna hate on me because I'm about to hate on these, but:

"Hey bro, I heard you like gears... so we put some gears in your gears so you can gear while you gear." Those... are they obliterators?... are awful. Uninspired, undersculpted, boring poses, and just plain underwhelming.

As for these...

Sorry for the hate, but it needed to be said.

In my opinion the only problem with the gears is that they don't have tapered edges, so they end up looking just like, well, gears. Instead of looking like saw blades.

Taper the edges so that they look more blade-like (see: Orky Kan/Dread buzzsaws) and they will look much better.

I like them looking like gears.

Also Deathgod maybe you should take a look at the eldar ranges, deamonettes, sodapop, reaper and the list goes on.

It is not degenerate porn or something. It is art for a army that has it as part of its fluff. People like you are the reason the stereo-type of the sexually deprived gamer are still alive. Why because you see it and make a big deal out of it. The rest of us just say nice work and move on.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with the rhino doors - they'd fit in perfectly with a Slaanesh themed army. I REALLY like the WIP guy too, a lot of potential there, and your sculpting talent shows through.

The Destroyers look good, and a great start for count-as oblits. I'm not sold on the location of the gears, but I like the idea (reminds me of Iron Warriors legion). The forward facing heads make the models seem a little monopose, if you could get some pose-able heads or some sculpted in different directions it might help.

Really good start though and the casts look really clean!

Hey, DeathGod, the reason those stereo types exist is because small minded people like you keep making a big deal about nothing.

As for the products, I think the gears are too fat in places, but it looks like a good job to me. I don't have a use for them but maybe some of the arms offered separately would be nice. The doors are a really good sculpt for slaanesh armies. And looking forward to seeing Mr. Muscles finished.

Can the bitz be ordered seperately? I really dig the legs. Agree with the above, less gears, more posbale heads.

The hatches are great, and a set of not Land Raider hatches and assault ramp would be great to see!

The reasons those stereotypes exist is because soccer moms see those types of models when picking their kids up at the comic shop, and girlfriends stopping by the FLGS to say hi to their guy see those models across the table. The stereotype exists for the same reason all stereotypes exist - because its true often enough for the stereotype to linger. My hanging my head in shame at the way my chosen community occasionally displays itself to the world is completely irrelevant to the impressions of people outside the hobby.

You can enjoy that aspect of the hobby. That's your opinion and your choice. Just like its my opinion and my choice to denigrate gratuitous and unnecessary tits and ass. That doesn't make either of our opinions wrong, just opinions. And I think its ridiculous, its that simple. If you enjoy that... aspect... of the hobby, please continue to do so. We'll probably never cross paths, so to each their own.

But I still wish that sub-community within our hobby would grow the feth up.

I don't like the legs. For me, they're too small and too skinny in the thigh.
The torsos are interesting. I think they have a more robotic and less human feel to them. That would work for my 100% converted Necron army if it wasn't for the fact that those torsos are covered with obviously Chaos markings. I really don't like sanding resin.
Same for the arms. There are quite a few things in there I could use, if it wasn't for the obviously MEQ shoulder pads built in and the obviously Chaos iconography.
If the torsos didn't have Chaos markings & the arms didn't have shoulder pads or Chaos markings, I'd probably pick some up.
Now, those (C'mon. Let's just say it) Slaaneshi doors are perfect. The bust and butt are CLEARLY out of proportion for a human... which makes them perfect.
Depending on the rest of the set and the cost, I may just pick a set of these up.
Those are Rhino sized doors. Yes?
