As much fun as this sounds, you eliminate most people from playing really early on. I get that making it so you don't play the same army twice, but as I am just hearing about this, I already can't play because you have one player playing my codex. Really disappointing.

We would love to have you there as well. I take it you do not play the remaining 4 armies?

If all goes well, we want to make this a 2 day, 56-64 player tournament (4 Brackets). The difficulty is in guaranteeing the pool of players is good enough who both play the armies we need AND can attend. By growing more slowly, we can sort of feel that out. That is part of the reason why we asked for alternate army choices this time from registrants: to see how deep the pool is, potentially, for all the armies. It also gave us room to negotiate with Ambassadors if we had somene like you who wanted to play, say Blood Angels, and a Blood Angel already registered. if that Blood Angel was willing to play his Tyranids, we could then allow you in. So by reigstering and choosing alternate armies you are equally good at, you put us in a good position to finagle a small bit behind the scenes... in the truest tradition of Ambassadors!

Looking forward, it would be foolish of us to sell tickets for an event we cannot hold and that's what would happen potentially if the pool isn't deep enough, so if Registration fills up quickly ENOUGH, we would entertain opening another bracket. Otherwise, it would be irresposnsible to do that.

I will ask our Webmaster, once registration is full, if he can create a second registration page for those who are willing to travel to it. If the response is big enough, we would be foolish not to consider it.

I hope you will follow it online in the meantime and then get your hat in the ring at first opportunity for the next one.

Primary objectives are worth 9 points. Secondary objectives are worth 6 points each. Tertiary objectives are worth 3 points each.

At the games end, the person with the most points wins the mission. Just keep racking 'em up. Once you determine the victor, you move on to the appropriate table. Wins are automatically tracked by the bracket. Victory points are used to determine the bye for those who lose, but are never a victory condition unto themselves.

It is possible to win the game without taking the primary objective. For example, if you had taken a Primary singular objective , but the enemy had a secondary and a tertiary, games not over yet! You're tied. So keep fighting to the bitter end. There's still something to play for even when the primary objective is out of reach. Kill. Blood makes the grass grow.

Some times you feel like you're out of the game before it starts because the enemies army is "perfect for that kind of mission" and you feel there's already no way to take the primary. For example, in KP missions where you are playing MSU Eldar with twice as many KP as the enemy whose running around with three Paladin units he's reserving etc... You have to play the "dont get dead" game all game long because your Eldar simply cannot kill enough KP to account for the wimpier KP's you give up faster, especially if he goes and reserves on you! Then you're REALLY playing uphill. Vice versa: MSU Mechdar on a 5 objective misson against a 20 model army is tough for the 20 model army. Both examples have caused themsevles hardship by being too extreme (one way or the other) but they can still both attack the mission a different way if need be to win.

This allows every army to play to it's strengths in some ways. Net result: hopefully a path to victory for everyone, no matter the army build, while still acknowledging that in the end, the mission is the mission. You know that going in.

Yah, I only own Mech BA and infantry Guard. I think it would be nice if you could do extra brackets if you fill the first. On closer calendar inspection, I can't make it, but I will be watching for the next tournament.

Some may not be aware but when you set up a Paypal account, you can actually use it to pay with a Credit Card instead of the paypal account itself. So you'd login and then use Paypal as a medium, basically, to make the transaction. They charge us a small fee of course...

If you need an alternate way to pay, you can PM me, but be aware we cannot reserve a slot for you until it is actually received and in the bank for all the obvious reasons.

Wanted to let everyone know as soon as the website was ready.

Black Templar and Dark Angels are available if you wish to register to play them in the Ambasdsadorial Tournament.

Games Workshop no longer gives them their own entry on their website but they are still available as codex's for sale under their Space Marine section and so we ARE allowing them, effective immediately.

Also:

The forum for the Tournament is now linked and operational as well.

Hey I meant to get these up quite a while ago. I failed.

Thought you'd like to see the Sword you're all fighting to have your name engraved on. Here it is, as wielded by the original 2006 Ambassadorial Tournament Champion (He played Tyranids).

Dan Barringer, Destroyer of Worlds. His swarms annihilated the entirety of the elvensword arenas patrons once he was done with his opponnents! Long live the Swarm.

The Swarm has been shown slight Favor by the old ones in the mirror of this blade! perhaps like you, his name will adorn it for all eternity.

Another pic just cause.

I would like to thank our sponsors, starting with George Butler II, who is a local author of the book Fox Elvensword and the Sword of Bhal. Even though he servers our country in Kuwait right now, he provided the namesake sword for our tournament which will bear the name of all our winners over time, as well as much of the food and the dice which were the only legal dice to use for the tournament. Shinanigans averted! You can purchase his book at http://www.foxelvensword.com to show your support for him. =)

Jive Consulting is responsible for our website, live streaming and generally tech support and couldn't have been more huge in our ability to not only hold this tournament but also to allow us to do it again in the future! Tell a friend. His work is well worth your consideration when you decide you need a website. You can find him at http://www.jiveconsulting.com/

Obviously I also want to thank Farmers Insurance for supporting our gaming community. Much of the computer equipment and additional cords and so on came from Farmers Insurance. If you're in Washington state, call them for to set an appointment for a free quote today! 360-705-3825.

I would like to thank Westryder, our guest judge who came a VERY long way to help me out He helped with FAQ's as well.

Also, Joseph Talotta who did so much of the camera work and gofer work, which was vital to my ability to keep everything on time. And the tournament went perfectly on schedule thanks to him and we have great footage we can now use to put together a bit of a promotional piece. So thank you Joseph!

A shout out to Travis Walthal (Waffles) as well. He is far more savvy technically than I am and at a critical stage we needed to get the cameras working and figure out a solution for mounting the cameras. Both he and Matt Stevens donated cameras for the effort. He also helped get the tourney set up, and was just generally an asset to the tourney so thank you.

A couple players went above and beyond also in a different way: Eric Hart brought enormous amounts of Salsa and like 10 bags of chips for the players (and man was that salsa good). I'd never seen the salsa before but its made in Aberdeen WA and I think it's called Taqueria Los Gallos (or else thats the name of the business that makes it). Either way their phone number is 360-538-4855. I'll be ordering me some of that stuff. Dang.

I hope I didn't leave anyone out. Thanks to everyone.
