Bounding Ultramarine Assault Trooper

So, I finally picked up the new XV-9 Hazard suits, XV-88 Broadsides and the New Tau Commander from Forgeworld. I loved the models and they have given me the impetus to start over and repaint my Tau.

I have actually been collecting the Tau since they first came out, although put them on the sidebar about 6 years ago as my paint scheme for my original tau was Jade Green and Scorched Brown and White - great combo, but when GW stopped making Jade Green I kind of gave up collecting new models. I still played a great army in 4th edition but never used the army in fifth.

Of course moving to China from the US and having to choose between Tau and Marines made the decision to leave them on the shelf easy. Of course, my tau army is still back in the states, but with the new XV - 9s and potentially new units/models coming out - i decided to start re-collecting the Tau and start anew here.

So, here is my first model - Shas'o R'alai

New Paint Scheme is

Principals
- Shadow Grey
- Adeptus Battle Gray
- Codex Gray

Secondary / highlights
- White for the sept markings and names - head and shoulders for for 'O level
- Red for Photon discharges and minor equipment and 'O level shoulders
- Gold for joint screws
- highlights are just one layer for now - not sure if a second is needed

Sorry about the photos - took them with iPhone which is...meh...

By the way - Any comments on the Base - Especially after looking at the pictures i am thinking the Gray rubble isn't the way to go. MY other armies have brown bases with green flock...

suggestions appreciated...thanks
