Hey I'm pretty new to the forum although I've made a couple of topics and lurked a dozen more, but I thought this would be a cool thing I might as well document here. Over the last couple months I bought, modeled, and painted up a 1500 point DA army (below), but that wasn't enough.

I tracked down and bought up a large, partially painted, and somewhat assembled pile of Dark Angels from a nice guy who had never really played them amounting to what I estimate is around 2500 points for about 130 Canadian. In the pile are a lot of units of all types and even a couple vehicles, and I thought it would be fun to document their entrance into my heroic chapter.

Included in the pile was:
1 mk 3 Land Raider
2 mk 1 Predators
1 mk 1 Rhino
1 Land Speeder
3 Bikes
6 Terminators
1 Command Squad
18 Tactical Marine
6 Devastator Marines
6 Assault Marines
13 Scouts
and a few HQs including a Ezekiel, a Techmarine, an Interrogator Champlain and Belial

Over the next few weeks I'll be cleaning them of their heretical pasts, priming most of them in their true chapters colors and and painting them up so the emperor would be proud.

I'll probably be starting with the double barreled predator (Predator I Below) as it requires the most work of the vehicles, and I reeeeaaally like painting vehicles. I'll be posting updates every couple of days and I expect to be done by the end of the summer. With the reinforcements I'll also be painting up an already converted Azreal I did a week or two ago.

Here's what the converted Angels of the Lion look like upon arrival (I've fixed some of the broken pieces on the tanks and bikes to avoid showing you anything too gruesome);

Finished the First Predator, though I may spend tomorrow doing some more chips in the paint or trying out the new citadel texture mud in the tracks and on the sides.

I finally tried my hand at edging the model and I think it turned out quite well, gives a cool contrast on the black/white scheme. Also added symbols more specific to my Fallen Angels army (including the fragmenting Caliban) and some wear and tear on it.

I think this is the finish for this one. Now onto another 2500 pts of models, this will be a marathon.

One more piece of the batch done. Aquila took probably as long as the rest of the entire tank, damned OCD. But I think it turned out relatively well.

I'll probably move on to perfecting a couple of details on the LR next.

That Aquila looks amazing on the rhino. It was worth every minute you put into it and then some. That is exactly how I envision the First Legion before they reunited with the Lion. Excellent work.

Yeah, that Aquilia is hardcore.

Thanks for the praise, I'll definitely be doing more stuff like that over the next couple of weeks (2 Chapter Banners I'm looking forward to).

Gotta ask for advice actually, I just noticed that the 2nd pred is actually missing a side panel for it's left sponsor.
Because of this I think I'm gonna green stuff it a crater on the side to explain it and make it look heavily damaged.
Any advice on how to paint a shell crater on the side of a tank?

Finished the all the tanks except the LR, next is that, then the command squad.

Here's the 3, added mud and some ripped up grass on the plows and treads to tie them in with the infantry bases.
