Ahh, you have to love today's society. Where a decision that a bunch of people on a planet with high radiation turned black because that was a cool sci-fyey sounding idea turns into something compared to Hitler.

That, and a guy from Norway referring to another country's people as "pasty white". There's a fairly amusing bit of irony there.

Of course the Salamanders gets bonus points for sticking around regular human beings. But it was their geneseed now unfortunately that mutated them into scary black men. Of course I doesn't like that one bit.

So you're saying that they're scary because they have black skin? Nice.

IG are the only place you'll find different groups anyway. Marines wear armour most of the time so you're left with scouts and a few HQ heads to show what they look like.

Now why are all eldar (including dark) really white skinned. Why can't orks come in different colours or at least shades of green? Let's not just pick on the imperium of um, arr, are we still allowed to say man? Maybe it should be changed to the Imperium of people?

I think focusing and, from what I've seen this thread, projecting political correctness on a game that is openly supposed to be dystopian, dark (for the most part once you get further into the fluff and past some of the ridiculous designs and ideas they've passed around recently for the sake of money) and a time of forlorn hope for humanity seems to be somewhat missing the point. Human lives are expended so quickly by without by xenos or within by claims of heresy that racial or ethnic issues are of little consequence. Especially in a game where you yourself get to choose how to depict your forces and it is in a setting of millions of planets with all sorts of deviancy from the "norm".

Also Orks do potentially come in other colours than green. There's even a story on how their skin changed due to the sand particles sticking inside their skin on a planet called Golgotha.

Well, lore-wise the Salamanders are noted for being frightening in-universe given their pitch black (actual black) skin (some even having scales IIRC), and bioluminescent red eyes. Also I'll have to check, but I'm pretty sure the Salamanders were intended either originally, or at least since the 3rd Edition to have jet black skin and look generally inhuman.

3rd edition's Codex: Armageddon actually had a white Salamander in it, and a afro-black one as well. The Salamanders design history was pummeled to death in this thread in earlier pages. No need to hash that one out again.

Nah, I'm saying the Salamanders are scary because they are Space Marines. And I tried to explain history and how stuff happened.

Yes they are scary because they have PITCH BLACK DAEMONIC-LIKE SKIN AND RED EYES, That alone is goddamn terrifying, Add the fact they are ecksbawkshuge superhumans.
And I'm black so +credibility goes to me.

I guess that depends on what humans see of the imperium. I mean the average tech priest is probably more scary looking than someone with black skin and glowy red eyes. What with mutants, augmetics and the like I think the average citizen sees a lot of weird stuff, weird to us that is.

You can't even get history nor the Salamanders right?

The text is here about he Sallies: "Also, as a result of a reaction between their genetics and the high levels of radiation on Nocturne, Salamanders battle brothers have dark or jet black skin and bright, burning eyes. This frightening appearance is entirely superficial, but has intimidated more than one rebellion into submission without firing a shot." Page 26 Codex Space Marines 5th edition. Next time read up instead of just prove to me that you are ignorant.

This is certainly a very intelligent and tightly focused thread and I know I've learned a lot from it, but I think we're getting sidetracked from the real heart of the issue, which is:
Can a dominatrix reproduce?

Methinks someone missed the joke.

And this thread has become an endlessly repeating broken record, with long intervals of going off topic.

Because GW is too lazy to make a black model. In the actual world blacks exist, as does every kind of racial group. They're in the books.

That's it.

There's no other reason.

Move on.

No one knows. It's always been here. It will always be here. It is a sacred ritual, the significance of which has long been lost to the misted memories of mortal men.
