As promised I've re-painted the model. I started by doing the eyes as suggested and ended up re-painting the whole thing! I took much more care this time and now it has a brighter, more finished look. As ever comments are most welcome. Cheers guys!

That's a bit that comes with the Dark Eldar Chronos if I'm not mistaken. I think it might be one the Spirit weapons, Spirit Vortex I think?

Also I really like the melding of organic and robotic, this is a stellar conversion. Though I think of it as more of a Dark Eldar construct than a Chaos construct, but that's just me.

I'm really not a fan of the head. It makes it look like a Pokemon, a Pokemon that took a level in badass, but a Pokemon nonetheless...

Specifically Metapod.

I think something that could help would be to paint the green parts of the head as some sort of metal. That would give it a "fused-to-the-flesh" kinda feel to the face. Then paint the underside of the head in fleshy tones to make it more clear that a big slab of metal was attached to the beast's head.

Pokemon? Pokemon? I wouldn't know, being ancient. As to painting the head to look like fused metal, I think not. The premise for my chaos/daemon army is that they scour the battlefield for anything they can make use of, be it dead, wounded or captured enemies and discarded equipment, from which their techs/sorcerers construct all manner of twisted horrors which they bind to chaos and unleash upon the next foe. This allows me to build pretty much whatever I can dream up using kits from across the GW range. I don't actually play 40k I just build and convert models. I always involve my local GW store and ask the guys there for ideas and suggestions on current and future projects so that whatever I build fits the 40k universe . The main thing for me is to have fun and develop my modelling/painting skills, and, of course, build something cool.
