I just finished painting my first squad of thousand sons up, and decided to base them. These are the first models I have ever based. I'm going to have a very heavy snow theme with my army (chaos doesn't always have to be magma and lava you know! )
I'm not sure if they look too...thick? I'm not sure. I also have a WIP rhino for them with similar effects.
C&C would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks!

I will post more pictures as I go - they take an ungodly long time to upload from my computer

Oh yes, and I apologize in advance for the quality of the photos - I borrowed my dad's camera and have no idea at all how to use it

Maybe a bit too much snow on them?
Anyhow, most of the cameras nowadays should have focus. Try holding the 'trigger' butto halfway there to get focus than press it fully.

The tank (rhino?) looks awesome from all the snow, its just weird finding troops like frozen statues

The models (apart from the tank) shouldn't have snow on them, but the bases look fantastic. When the marines move, they will shake off the snow.

A Thousand Suns marine who was standing guard would probably end up looking like that though, since they have no body heat to speak of

As for the camera, brace your hands on the table to minimise shake. Set it to "Macro" (looks like a little flower symbol), and set it to a couple second of delay on the timer. (probably a clock symbol). Or, if it's got the functionality, you should be able to set it to AUTO and it'll take decent looking pictures, at least, by itself. Never, ever, use flash on miniatures.

I will try to take some other pictures of them later, then, with your advice. Also, I figured they would look a little snowier than most models because they're rubric marines, so not a lot of heat, motion, and fluidity going on. However, I do agree that they may be a tad too snowy. It will probably flake off in a few days or so anyway, and if it doesn't I will scrape some off.
And thanks for the compliments on the bases, stole the idea from CoolMiniOrNot (baking soda and PVA glue).
