i found this picture on the web and was thinking of making a khorne lord, nut dont know how to go about it. i was thinking emperors champion, replace sword (maybe axe or glaive..) and bloodletter face on helmet but im not sure. wanted to ask you guys how you would make it.

I want to see this happen dude, and I've got a number of suggestions for what you could do (along with plenty of picture reference for what I'm talking about).

The Emperor's champion model may be your best bet in terms of a base body to work with given the pose, but you'd be doing a lot of filing away to get rid of the loyalist bits (i.e. parts of the tabard and his necklace) Also, as shown in the picture below, the head of the champion is connected to the rest of the body, so you'd have to be careful about cutting that off to get a more suitable head on. If you wanted additional chaos detail, you'd have to find specific tiny bits, and you'd probably have to use greenstuff too.

On the other hand, the standard khorne marine lord has a similar pose, and you wouldn't have to find as many random bits. However, as shown in his sprue below, not only is he metal (pretty sure he hasn't been finecasted yet) but you'd have to remove the shoulder pads (depending on what pose you wanted) and head.

Fortunately, acquiring a decent set of wings and head for this guy is a tad easier. For his wings, you just need to get a single piece from the possessed sprue (as shown below). For the head, there are a number of chaos beastmen heads you could use, but if you wanted a less natural feel, then a bloodletter head would work better. There are a number of axes you could use, so I'll leave that to you.

Swap heads, swap one arm, put on the fancy winged backpack and you're gold.

Isnt there a head from the Wahammer Khorne lord on the Jugernaut with a simalar head. If I remember there were 2 head choices in that kit and 1 had a Bloodletter type head with horns.

If you can get ahold of the Archaon on foot model ( yeah right) I think that would be a good body to start with.

Ive got that mini and hes bigger than you would think, as big or slightly larger than a SM terminator...he dwarfs power armor SMs.

I second this. I think this would be the easiest. Of course, Kharn's axe is in the opposite hand, but details, details...

Then cannibalize the rest of the models to fit into whatever Chaos army you please, really. Both of those kits have excellent Chaos related bits and pieces.

@Drelthar i think they have released the emperors champion in finecast, so that should make things easier.

i like the ideas of using Kharn or the khorne lord, but there both in metal, but they would look good, as well as having all the details needed on them already.

i could buy all three and see which goes best.
whichever i choose, i shall post it as soon as i have completed it, whether in this thread or in another, it just depends on how long it takes to buy and build.

hey all,
recentlly been down my local GW, and saw the finecast Huron blackheart model, and thought about that model, possessed wings, change the claw arm and head change.
i was thinking of one of the bare World Eaters heads from forge world, terminator or power armour varients. unfortunately i don't have any of them and it's going to be expensive
so i am going to have to search ebay for those. (if anyone has any spares, then feel free to contact me )
once i buy all the neccesary parts i will upload pics, and keep you guys posted
