I built this model to test my new airbrush and didn't notice the mistake until the final assembly stage, LOL. I hope you like it nevertheless

I don't think it's worthwhile. I better buy another one (being more careful with the decals)

Nice, clean Dread - slight chipping gives it a bit of flavor..
Maybe the lascannons can use a bit of 'burn' ?

Decals can be removed or painted over. MicroSol can remove them fairly easily.
My only criticism is the red seems a little flat. Highlights and smooth color transitions are much easier with and airbrush most times as compared to a normal brush. Just practice a little and you'll get it. All and all, good effort though!

Thanks for the comment. I agree with you, the model should have a bit more contrast. I still have to learn how to use my aibrush properly. As for the decals, they were sealed with matt varnish :(

You already mentioned the lack of shading, so im not gonna comment on that (well kind of did there.. )
But wow! That is some nice weathering! Just the right amount and not to tiny so you mistake it for line highlights.
Great job!
Cheers.

I like the weathering the way it is
The work with an airbrush is pretty sharp. You might just want to break out the old fashion way for just a few highlights on the red to make the model pop.
Do the whole army with upside down skull markings, it will look fine and interesting in mass. When people ask you say with a smile "i thought the model looked perfect in what i was trying to achieve, so I wanted to make it imperfect"
Seriously though I think the models well executed.

Maybe some tiny print next to the leg skulls saying "If these skulls look good then call the techmarine to flip me over."
Otherwise excellent work. I need to finally get my airbrush set up and practice.

I don't really care much about those skulls. After all, this hobby is about having fun, isn't it? And yes, I need to practice a loooot with the airbrush. I found (too late) that Vallejo Model Air are rather translucent and I had a really hard time trying to highlight each individual panel. In the end, I let it be. Next time I'll do better with Vallejo Model Color. What do you think?

Incorporating Wet-Blending

Yeah, microsol will take care of the decals. Very solid paint overall. I would recommend you wash it with some thinned very dark brown in the recesses, around bolts, etc. And maybe add some other colors to break up the monotone red. You could also do it in a very dark green if you wanted to get ambitious with the shading. Specifically, the banding on the sarcophagus viewport could be done in metal as could some of the rear portions of the arm weapons. Maybe some hazard striping on the CCW round hand collar. I would also pick the rivets with either a lighter shade or some scratch weathering to make them stand out a bit.
