hi guys, i found all of my old chaos models out and decided that i wanted to have a go with them and i thought i would make a nurgle army but i dont have any nurgle models.
i have made a few last night from knorne beserkers by giving them bloated bellies and melting the bunny ears so it looked like a bubbling mess ( just like nurgle should be) so so far i have seven plague marines but i am wanting more, how would you guys convert them from normal chaos marines/khorne beserkers.

I actually had a bunch of Plague Marine heads made up to help make quick plague marines. It wasn't too expensive and now I can pretty much take any ebay marine, do a headswap, add a GS cable and have an instant plague marine! then again, I'm making a whole army, not just an odd squad
Potbellies are a good way of making Plague Marines too - for best results you should make a long strip of GS, coil it up on the Marine's stomach and then surround it in a thin layer of GS, that way you can tear it and have the "guts" poke out. It's time'consuming, but gives good results

...Actually I'd suggest going easy on the Green stuff, you don't want your Plague Marines to look like "blobs", you want them to convey a bloated and diseased feel.
Some ideas that are worth trying for simple conversions would be to get your hands on some WH fantasy zombie heads, quick swaps and they look very effective for PM's.
Also, if you have one, use your pin vice to drill holes of various sizes into the armour, giving it a pitted/ rotted look ( make sure you score the holes at the edges with a model knife so they don't appear to " clean").
As for the use of GS, a little goes a long way, small areas sculpted to show "rot" and pustules look best IMO, and of course you can't go wrong with distended bellies on Plague Marines.
The exposed Guts idea that Charax suggested is a nice one as well.
EDIT: Here's a quick example of one of my converted Plague Marines built from a standard CSM mini and utilizing a bit of GS and a head snatched from the zombie kit.
I am both selfish and chaotic. I value self-gratification and control; I want to have things my way, preferably now. At best, I'm entertaining and surprising; at worst, I'm hedonistic and violent.
What I do is I take a pea sized amount of greenstuff and smooth it against the leg/torso ect.. of the chaos marin, making sure I leave a little bump in the middle. Then I get my sculpting tool and I make little dimpled and pot marks to make it look fleshy.
I'm both selfish and rational. I'm scheming, secretive and manipulative; I use knowledge as a tool for personal gain, and in turn obtaining more knowledge. At best, I am mysterious and stealthy; at worst, I am distrustful and opportunistic.

The main reason I say cut them off is for fluffy reasons. It's incredibly rare for a person to have more than one chaos god dedication. Nurgle's Rot would simply kill a khorne berzerker, not turn him into a plague marine.
It just looks incongruent in my opinion.

Yeah, these just look like berzerkers with greenstuff piled on. Try working some details into the sculpted areas because right now it just looks like you plopped greenstuff everywhere and called it a day.
ok thanks guys I will chop the corns off and add Abit more detail to them and add some pics on after.
i am just making a nurgle lord now and next week (my birthday) I am hoping to get a multipart plastic kit demon prince so I will build him up with wings and nurgle him up a bit.
could anybody teach me/ do a tutorial on some tips on green stuff because this is my first almost fully green stuff conversion.
thanks

It's a bit lengthy, since it's been going since 07, but all the better for showing progression, tips of perfecting sculpting and even painting.
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

thanks guys for the link to that guys awsome thread and the amazing straw idea, thanks, I have done abit more on the lord and have started on a nurgle greater daemon

Personally you don't have make them look uber fat and bloated to make them look like some bad ass death guards. Think about what parts you want to use to make your effect on the model.
Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless and perfunctory gift nobody ever asked for. Unreturnable because all you get back is another box of chocolates. So you're stuck with this undefinable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down because there's nothing left to drink. Sure once in a while there's a peanut butter cup or a English toffee, but they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits of hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat those all you've got left is a. An empty box, filled with useless brown paper wrappers.
