I have been trying to take a picture of this monstrous creature from this angle but when i do i can't get the whole thing in focus, i'm using a Canon EOS on full auto, with flash. Any ideas?

Instead of using the macro function, set up your camera about 1m away & zoom in.
This will allow more of the figure to be in focus & get ris of the parallax error you get when using macro.
Try to have the camera set up above the figure rather then level.
Use the maual setting for the aperture & choose one in the middle rather than very high (eg 32) or very low (eg 2.8).
You will have to try a few to get the best results - you're looking to get the figure all in focus but the background & foreground blurred.
Some cameras allow you to 'bracket' a shot - this function means the camera will take 3 pictures at slightly different time settings.
Also use plenty of lights. If using standard desk type lamps use a bit of baking / greaseproof paper over the end of the lamp to diffuse the light.
Better still get a light tent.
You can build one using a largish (40cm sq) cardboard box.
Cut out the top & sides leaving a boarder of around 2-3cm then tape greaseproof paper over the holes.

Also I've started taking photos to use as reference for weathering which can be found here. Please send me your photos so they can be found all in one place!!
