Vostroyan Firstbourne is based on 17th-18th century cossacks (or likely from 'With Fire and Sword' novel). Serdjuks wearing either half armor, cuirass, or Chainmail kuntush. GW wrote its fluff sayin' that Vostroyan troops inherit weapons and armor from generations to generations (new recruits dressed the same armors and wield the same guns as a fallen troops) and doesn't seem to upgrade any. while Catachans personalize their weapons, and cadians are heavily standardized (and supplied with 'usually' freshly manufactured). Thus this make vostroyan looks very archaic.

I know that there's still standard vostroyans available but I also seen one man. some one called 'Irfpio' create Vostroyans entirely from GW plastics + GS.
I need guidelines of GW plastic products thats.. in addition to either Cadian or Catachans. are suitable to convert into vostroyans (or any 30 years war-style Imperial Guards that suits medieval world)
I know that much of these materials are from WHFB ranges.
what do you think about this list?
- Scout marines
- Empire Handgunners
- Empire Landsknecht
- Brettonian MAA
- Empire Pistolieri
- Empire Freikorps
- High Elves Spearmen
- High Elves Archers

if you disagree, what else do you think it's a better materials?
